Problems with Magellan Crossover

If you use it for geaocaching, be sure to pick up software called GSAK, which stands for Geocaching Swiss Army Knife. It is free to download and try and it is really great for that. It interfaces with the Geocaching.Com website very well.

I also purchased the map update. It is an SD card, which I have not tried to copy yet, (but I will) as I own two of them.

Will advise.....

I had one that worked for a few weeks. It was supposedly refurbished. 2 days before we were leaving for the ExPo UP Overland Adventure it took a dump. Blanked right out. I will be sending it in once we get settled in to the new house.

I ended up picking up a Garmin Etrex Legend for the trip and got the Mapsource software for $110 at the local Dunhams. Needless to ssay, the Garmin hasn't given me any problems(nor has my cheapo regular Etrex for that matter).

Might look into the Delorme PN-40 when it comes out.

Mine has worked great on street navigation, never a problem, however when I have used in outdoors I have had some freezing problems, also when i installed the Mexico SD Card I had a freezing problem, so I had to return the SD Card , I did order another SD Card last week and will see if it works this time, if not i will ask for my money back and go in search of another gps for Mexico and Central america.

I put in a repair request at Megellan's website a few weeks ago and I haven't heard anything from them.

I see you can get Delorme PN-20s for @ <$200 now that they released the PN-40.

You need to call them early morning @ around 7:00am depending on location and they answer very fast, they give you a repair order number and done!
