Pronghorn new bumper for JK

Pretty amazing that you can get something so well designed in aluminum and only $100 more than one of the leading steel bumpers out there, and then throwing in the fact that it's stronger, too? "Shut up and take my money."

I like the design, however, should it be "shut up and give me your money" ha ha!

I do like the fact that its light weight, modular and very innovative. Any word on the rear bumper? I may guinea pig it and try em out. I want lightweight to keep milage up.

Overland Expo is where they debuted the front last year, so I imagine you'll see the rear bumper at this year's Expo.

I guess I picked up my aev as a take off used for 200.00. Don't get me wrong that thing is an amazing bumper, if I did not have one it would be on my short list.

I think that the Pronghorn is like a Swiss Army Knife for a bumper. As with all things new and being designed made in the USA, it comes at a premium price. Is it worth it to some? Is it better than all the rest? I believe everyone has different answers. Personally I think its wicked cool! What can I say I'm a sucker for gadgetry. It's very impressive, even moreso in person. I'm just bummed that they don't make a version of it for the TJ. They hinted that they would but I think that ship has sailed. With that said; my rampage front bumper has everything that I need and I got it for a fifth of the price.

I got two aev bumper. One for myself and one for a friend. one had some damage on it. Nothing a blow torch and 30 minutes will not fix. I was thinking of keeping that one for myself and getting sprayed with xline or try a diy kit on it.

So sorry dont have extras, these ones I pick off kijiji for cheap.

I was fortunate enough to meet Trey today at the Pronghorn shop and take a look around. I have to say I was very impressed with the products. One of the things I noticed is the quality of the product. The parts are cnc aluminum that is triple coated and interchangeable. I would compare it to owning a Surefire or Streamlight flashlight, sure I could by a 7 dollar flash light at Home Depot but its not the same as holding quality in your hand. I got to mess with the JK bumper and saw the Tacoma bumper in R&D. Lastly I would say that these products are made right here in the USA, that is something you wont find on a bunch of the other companies. No I'm not related or employed by Pronghorn, just a guy that was impressed.

I think most of it would agree that the bumpers are quality made with a lot of ingenuity. I would say that the $7.00 flash light isn't in the same category as their high $$ light they are selling, I'll pass on the high $$ and go for the same quality at half the cost.....
