I was with you until the carpet... I'll wait and see what you come up with.

A little progress:

Rock lights, Aluminess ladder, and 12x5 smittybilt rack.

The rack is missing one section at the moment. It will all be coming off shortly anyway for the next phase in the build.

Body work. My door was taken by a gust of wind and bent up to where it no longer opens. I have been going through the side to avoid making it worse.

Since this requires paint I figured this is the moment to have all my rusted rockers replaced and do some rust prevention work.

Once they are done with all that it will go into the paint booth and get mesa grey raptor liner over the whole body. Though the orange is kind of fantastic in its own way I want to dissappear into stealth camping spots, not stand out.

New body panels and all the materials are in for the body work. Now for a time where I can afford to not have my rig for a while so it can get done.

Before it goes in I figured I would get some prep work done. POR-15 was sprayed via HVLP gun on everything that can take it underneath. Definitely the way to go. Brushing upside down is a total waste of this stuff and makes an unreal mess. Buy the cheapest HVLP gun you can find and get it all done in one session so you can just throw it away after.

And what would this be without action shots:

My buddy wishing he hadn't brought his bagged truck to the woods. Talk about a spoon at a gun fight.

Thanks man!

A little more progress under the rig today. The iron cross cut outs and random stuff hanging off the rear bumper were driving me nuts.

Ripped out the tractor style reverse lights, highway flashers, and trailer hitch.

I fully understand about the Iron Cross logo, and I won't buy anything with the manufacturer's logo carved into it. A small decal or sticker in an inconspicuous place is OK most of the time, but not that.

The recessed backup lights look great, but why did you remove the trailer hitch? No trailers to pull? It could also be used to support a bike or cargo rack, as well as several other options. I've even seen a skid plate plugged into one to keep the rear bumper from plowing when crossing ditches, etc.

Yeah Tom, but he still has two tow points with shackles. Better take the shackles off and hide them I guess. :D
