I do have a remote, I picked this up shortly after getting my camera.
Will it work for these "bulb" shots?

Se when you are in bulb mode, you push the remotes button once, time out your exposure, then push the button again?
I am only about 1/3rd of the way through my Dummies book, and have not got to the exposure chapter yet.
My lens is 18 mm at wide angle, and 135 mm at full zoom, so I take it you do not zoom at all then.
Will be fun getting some cool shots this summer when camping, as there is no light up there except for moonlight.
Usually the week I take my week long vacation the Perseids meteor shower is in full swing too.
Looks like August 12th this year, I may not be taking my trip until the end of August or first week of September.
