Range Rover P38 diesel conversion

That's a big *** engine and can't believe it still manages 20+ mpg even with these heavy trucks

6.2s really aren't bigger than most medium-duty NA diesels. Large displacement, yes, but they'll burble down the road at 1400 RPM all day long.

absolutely right.
I get about 650 miles out of a tank full of diesel. That's 26mpg, if i am not mistaken.

Well you have convinced me! I guess it is time to mount one of those 6.2l's in my 95 Disco. I already have two diesel trucks, why not a third. Where did you come up with the bell housing to transmission adapter? Is there a kit out there for this conversion? Thanks,

Dodger

I used a chevy bellhousing and made my transmission adapter. If there is interest , I will make a kit with adapters concentric spacer and hardware needed.
I bought my engine from teds trucks and stuff ... great people and the engines are guaranteed to have between 10 and 40k miles

soooooo jealous....

15mpg to 26mpg is basically a 73% increase in fuel economy. :Wow1:

Congrats on getting it up and running. Nice work.

Wonder if I could get it smogged in California?
