Refreshing the TJ - Build Thread

Well got the 1800 running which means it can come in and out of the garage & driveway when needed and I can start wrapping up the Jeep.

The AT Combo slide showed up today and fits with about 1/4" to spare under the rear crossbar. PERFECT! I still need to tweak the blocks a bit to make it fit the TJ for final fit, but really happy with how much it is going to help storage in the Jeep.

P1800

I worked on an '66 P1800 for my sister about 35+ years ago, just wait for those "ribbon gauges" between the tach and speedo to come off
their rollers, that'll make the entire jeep project seem a walk in the park. Her's was red, very similar to the one Roger Moore drove as
Simon Templar in that ol' British series ~The Saint~. An coupe, not an wagon. B18'B' engine 10:1 compression high octane only, snappier
and almost as much fun as my SAAB 97.
Back to the Jeep channel now . . .:ylsmoke:

That AT slide looks sweet. I'm debating what I'm going to do for a better storage solution and I like that slide a lot. Thinking of building a custom hard top mounted roof rack for lightweight stuff.

I just started a build thread here on EP. Not many TJ builds here. Keep up the good work.

Nice! This has the B20F which is the lower compression model. I think it has 8.5:1 compared to the B20E which was 9.5:1 and had about 15 horsepower more in europe.

The slide is great. Bit too busy over the next couple weeks to jump back into building the rear storage, but hopefully it'll come together soon. Will check out the build!

sometimes forward-always ahead

I've been following awhile, linked from 000. I like the direction you're taking your TJ.
I, personally, like the VMIOFFROADDOTCOM ~Alpine~(tip it over, drag the Rubicon,
upright it, trail it home) form of impromptu off-road travel.
Please don't confuse an Saab "Ninety Seven"('74 Sonett III) with an "nine-seven",
. . . totally different vehicle concepts.:Mechanic::exclaim:

Tucked the drivetrain the other day. No body lift so I couldn't go full flat on the bottom. The center mount bushings vs frame bushings have become a controversial discussion both before and after the install, so I'll see how I can squeeze one in there depending on how I end up doing my skid. Exhaust will get routed next week.

Nice work! That looks really clean. You're going to be so glad you did that on that day you don't get hung up on a rock :)

By the way Nate; I ordered a Spintech Muffler last week. Hope to get it tomorrow. I ended up with the Sportsman Street 3000. Same inlet/outlet style as factory. Looking forward to it and thanks for the recommendation.

Few other 'bolt in' projects lined up for the near future : Savvy Gas Tank Skid, Savvy Tail Lights, then starting to build the center console and rear storage system.

Couple of weekends ago I got the Under Cover Fab 1/4" Aluminum skid rattle-canned and thrown under.

Thank you both!

OK OK Guys. Much more build fun to follow. I will hopefully have a list up here in the next week or so. There isn't 'much' compared to the past few years, but some cool things are still in the works.

To illustrate the next level of garage projects, I feel it is important to introduce the new addition to the garage, Tormach PCNC 1100. Image taken when it was first moved in. Before I start major projects I need to built a coolant enclosure.
