Interesting speculation on the KL and Renegade:
"But CarAdvice has learnt that a manual Renegade Trailhawk – fitted with the 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder and six-speed gearbox – could be on the cards, while a diesel version of the Cherokee Trailhawk using the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine currently reserved for the regular models is also in the works."

Just noticed that CarAdvice is an Aussie website.
I would only disagree on the" Hate" coming from ignorance" part of your statement.
Everyone knows ignorance is bliss, not hate...
ROFL.
Otherwise, (imo) you've hit the nail on the head.
How cool would it be for a group of college students to cross the TAT in Trail Hawk Renegades. Maybe lead by some experienced Overlanders who write for a competent overlanding magazine...
Would be a great piece of marketing for Jeep.
I'd tend to agree, but then I'm biased. :sombrero:
Yeah, they still make the Patriot/Compass. Sales-wise they're doing better than ever. The new C-SUV is supposed to be out next year.
This Renegade may be the Euro version of the Trailhawk, they don't get tow hooks, at least not up front.I can't believe how little attention this picture gathered. Is this confirmed to be real, because if so: Awesome.
Not even a trailhawk model. Hopefully that doesn't mean that this will only be possible on the non-trailhawk trims. I don't see how that would make sense, since I believe they all use the same suspension set up.
This picture excites me.
I think comparing the Renegade to a Subaru would be very interesting - there is so much that the new renegade offers that subaru doesn't match - being able to drive with an open roof, the 20:1 crawl ratio - larger tire sizes... doesn't seem to be much of a comparison actually...
Would love to see a listing side by side of the two...
I wish Subaru kept the forester as the original was, instead of turning it into a rav4. Poor thing. They should have kept it as a square body style, high ground clearance and great interior space. instead they made it into a vanilla boring Japanese ride. Oh well, at least the xv is still there.
I am still not a fan of the newer body styles. I will be keeping my 99 until it really gives up the ghost, or the wife forces me to upgrade. The tranny is already funky in cold weather, and the head gasket is seepy. Those two repairs alone are more than the worth of the vehicle itself.
Worth every penny to fix if the body is good. New ones are lackluster at best.
