Renegade concept at Detroit Auto Show

Took a good look at the Renegade here in Canada at the Canadian International Auto Show. Gotta say... for what it was, I wasn't overly impressed. Nice little vehicle, don't get me wrong... but $39k for a loaded Trailhawk. As a comparison, you could get the Nissan xTerra Pro4x for the same price, or the Frontier Pro4x for $37k.
.
Granted, you're paying for some new tech, and great fuel economy, but still... hard to justify that price, especially since the Wrangler has a nicer interior in my opinion. Hell, the Cherokee Trailhawk is like $2k more, and is worlds better in terms of interior, with the same tech, and arguably the same off road chops.

Yes, the dollar has tanked again, So our vehicle pricing went back up. pricing all depends on what you want. If you want a small rig, that has more capability than anything in its class, the renegade is worth every penny, if you are looking for more of a traditional rig, then the xterra or wrangler is a better buy.

Holy currency conversions.

Playing around on the US website, it costs US$33,105 to build a Renegade Trailhawk that has just about every option:
Uconnect
Leather-Trimmed Seats
Remote Start
Passive Entry
9 Amplified Speakers with Subwoofer
Navigation w/ SiriusXM
Power Retractable/Removeable Panels
Tow Package
Premium Group (A/C dual zone auto temp control, heated front seats/wheel, power seats, wiper de-icer)
Blind Spot and Cross Path detection
Security Alarm

Equipping a Cherokee as closely as possible costs about US$4,000 more.

Not sure how I feel about the trailer but love the Renegade (if it is real and not photoshop). It looks like it has a small lift. I wonder what the wheel/tire combo is?

The pricing I quoted earlier in the thread, despite being straight from the auto show board, is not what the build and price tells me on the site. A fully loaded Trailhawk was $35k on Jeep.ca

Anyone hear any numbers on the cargo weight capacity of the Renegade? GVWR? Curious how it stacks up against the Cherokee and the Wrangler Unlimited... Its a value which could make me choose one over the other.

Thanks!

You cannot compare the renegade against the Cherokees. Of course both Cherokees have more cargo capacity. Compare the gade to its competition. which the Cherokee family is not.

The renegade looks ok, its biggest fault is its built on the fiat 500L platform. Jeeps quality and reliability has fallen off a cliff. As seen by the first fiatjeep cherokee. That thing has had issue after issue and failure after failure. I don't expect this to be much different.
