I'd say if they are even close to tight you might want to change them. Losing a line would really ruin your day.

I definitely will be checking it out today. I've experienced brake failure coming home from work one day and it wasn't pleasant at all. The driverside line had popped loose from its cradle and had rubbed on the axle all the way home. Luckily the line didn't leak until about 20ft from home. I replaced them with the SS lines I had sitting in the garage that night.

I had a shock shaft break on my GMC (Michigan truck) and take the brake line with it. That was slightly terrifying. Just being close to too tight might have long term effects on the lines service life as well.

That does sound pretty terrifying. A shock and brake line... yikes.

I'll probably order the extended line kit from AC. At full lock the lines are a little loose but could use a little more give. The rear lines need a bit more slack too. But I think it should be fine for now.

Heheh I can't wait to test out the flex. Might hit up a local trail this week if I don't get called in for work. Don't say that! Just barely thinking about tires and the cost expense makes my pockets tremble.

I do have to say, it certainly looks awesome on those 265/75s. If you don't need the taller tire, then don't go for it. I was suggesting the Cooper ST Maxx in a 255/85 because they are a short 33 (32.8"), and they are narrower than a standard 33, so rubbing probably wouldn't happen. Probably.

Either way, I think it looks awesome. Looks begging for a trail!

The 265/75's look small on the truck now since its lifted... I kind of want 33s but don't want to take an mpg hit nor the body lift.

I'd be willing to bet you could pull off 255/85's without doing the body lift, and the MPG hit would be less than you'd expect, since you already have the 265s on it. 255s are narrower than the 265s you have on the truck now, and the problem most people have when putting 33s under a first fen isn't from the height of the tire, it's from the width.

If its stuffed I'm pretty confident it will still rub. I had to trim a pretty decent amount just to get the 31s to fit with no rubbing on our first gen. The ifs lift will have virtually no effect on clearance.

The thing is the wheel still travels the same path as before which is why without a body lift you'll still run into the same issues as a stock rig would.

I can tell you the splash guards are more or less worn away already. If its going to rub, its going to rub the actual inner fender or something else. SpongeX makes a good point because it still is limited between the suspension articulation and the actual panels. If one were to physically shift the body panels upwards, you'd increase the distance the tire can move before it rubs.

I'd be keeping the 265/75 until they are gone and by then I'll be ready for some new wheels and tires.

I've been running stock sized tires (31") since I bought the X. They've never gotten me stuck and they still look proportionate since I've only done the shackles / torsions.

That being said, when I do need new tires, I'm going all out and doing the suspension enhancements (leaf springs and control arms). I already know I'm getting 15" rims and 32" tires. That's as high as I'm going, no body lift, no 33s. I've seen quite a few trucks that have this same setup and it looks like it was meant to be like that from the factory ;)

Another vote for 32s. While 33s is the holy grail for most trucks but aside from all the fitment issues you give up too much power (due to the gearing) when you go +2-3 tires.
