I love the SCS wheels. They are hub centric and super light weight so they reduce rolling resistance. Makes a big difference when you have heavy tires. I've ordered 5 sets of SCS wheels now and never had a problem. Designed for Toyotas specifically so the offsets and backspacing options are great. Send Vin an email @ SCS! Lots of color options too!

Glad the Headers worked out for you. We'll make a Rubicon and/or Moab run together one day.

Really appreciate it Connor. Definitely. In and In.

I'd be interested in a set of headlights. Keep us posted.

Thanks!

Will do! Just got home... I'll post more info tomorrow.

So is it better to downsize to a 16" rim or stay with the 17" that it came with? FWIW, 99% of my driving is all Road Warrior and the off road is mostly service road, nothing gnarly, just getting to river put ins and Mt Biking trails ect, however we will be in Baja a bit too.

Then you might as well stick with 17's and use the same tires. Advantage of 16's is it's just that much more rubber when airing way down for snow, rocks, etc. Don't need to air down quite as far for service roads.

Thank you, def something to ponder as being able to air down on the silt beds in Baja might be very beneficial, are there more tire choices in the 16" range?

Like Sean said, the major advantage is additional sidewall on the tire. However your still going to have decent sidewall on a 17" rim too. What size tire do you plan on running is the more important question - 32? 33? 35?

I would say there are more 17" tire sizes available but it's probably pretty close. 16" tires generally are cheaper to purchase than 17's.

Was thinking 33/9.50/ whether its 16 or 17 or possibly 10.50 nothing taller and thinking about the best gas mileage too for the majority of my driving. Both my other Tundras were for work so everything was stock, now I am trying to figure out what will work best, and don't have a lot of experience with the tundy in this arena. My Baja excursion might just have to be tailored to what my rig is set up for for my day to day. Living in the Rockies we don't see a whole bunch of sand, I will keep my stock rims for winter snow tires so that wont be much of an issue, these wheels and tires will strictly be a May/June to Nov set.
***Sorry don't mean to thread jack all the info given has been awesome, thank you

Retrofitted Tundra Headlights

Ok some details....

I have 4 sets of parts available to clear out my inventory.

All of the retrofits would include the following components:

FX-R 3" Bi-Xenon Projectors (hi/low beam projectors): (TRS info here: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/co...bi-xenon-fx-r-stage-iii-kit.html#.VO57F1PF8Z0)
Morimoto HID bulbs (35w)
Morimoto HID Ballasts (35w)
H4 HD Relay Harness
TYC OEM Replacement Headlight Assemblies
Shroud Selection (your choice, see below)

Some Notes:

Headlight Painting - Once the headlights have been opened, it is possible to paint the internal front trim bezel (think Tacoma "Black Headlight Mod" or BHLM) and/or the reflector bowl and shrouds (see photos in link provided). I want to keep it simple but I can allow this option for a small $50 upcharge to cover paint and prep/paint costs.

Shrouds - Due to my limited component availability, I only have a small selection of shrouds available. I have 1 pair of Apollo 1 Shrouds (http://www.theretrofitsource.com/components/shrouds/apollo-projector-shrouds.html#.VO5rD1PF8Z0), 1 pair of E46-R Shrouds (http://www.theretrofitsource.com/components/shrouds/apollo-projector-shrouds.html#.VO5rD1PF8Z0). All are quite subtle and are designed to be "OEM" looking as opposed to some of the more radical ones.

Bulbs - I have 1 pair of 5000K (very very subtle blue color) Morimoto bulbs, 1 pair of 4300K (pure white) Morimoto Bulbs.

Pricing

00-04' Tundras - $600 USD Base price (ad $50 for painting and/or $50 for Philips while supply lasts)
05-05' Tundras (DBL Cab or A/C) - $775 (as $50 for painting and/or $50 for Philips while supply lasts) - These are more expensive because the newer 05-05 headlight housings are more expensive than the 00-04'. I do NOT mark up the housing costs AT ALL.

Prices do NOT include shipping or Paypal fees. In my past experience, the most I have seen for shipping from Canada was $75 and that was to Florida.

Pricing will net you a complete "plug and play" headlight setup. You will need to install the ballasts and wiring harness (2/10 difficulty and I have instructions) and then aim the headlights once on the truck using a 10mm ratchet (also have aiming instructions).
With all being said above, it's first come first serve. My supplies are limited to first pick of shrouds and bulbs will go to the first person to get me a deposit. I will require a deposit of $250 USD with full balance paid in full before shipping. I will ad the shipping cost to the final balance.

Timeline:

It seems like I have a fair amount of interest already to sell all 4 sets, but nothing is certain until the deposits are paid. So I would like to close this offer on March 6th for deposits. After that I will order all the appropriate headlight housings and allow up to 2 weeks for their arrival. Once they arrive I will be building all the lights at once. Shipment date would be the 15th of April. Yes, seems like a while but I'll need 3-4 weeks just to gather payments and the headlight housings.

Please divert all questions relating to this post to PM as I would not like to clutter my build thread or have this shut down. I will update this post as deposits are received and items become unavailable. PM me with your selected options and year of Tundra. I will give you my Paypal info at that time.

Finally, thank you to all who choose to participate. One of the best mods I have ever done to a vehicle as this is a practical mod that can be used daily and on the trail. Not some $800 rooftop ornament for offroad use only. Cheers!

Sorry for the low quality photos, the 06' Double Cab setup I just finished last night:

What type of gas mileage are you getting with your wheel/tire set up, have you changed gear ratio? You were right SCS seems like the way to go, they were super prompt in getting back with me, now I just have to figure out size and wait to see if the SR8 model comes back online soon otherwise I like the F5's too, the Gunmetal looks sharp but I would love to see the Bronze in person!

Gas mileage, whats that? Haven't really tracked it yet, waiting for the gears but I'm sure I'm in the 14-16mpg range on highway. Factory gears now but going in for 4.56's in a couple weeks.
