*Rickashay's 04' Tundra* - A build of Compromises

All your talks about the TRD headers are making me change my priorities about installing mine. I have the S&S long tubes sitting on shelf yelling at me. LOL! Yes, I'm in Cali and will still be installing them with a few mods to it. :ylsmoke:

Yah get on it! haha No it's a PITA.... I don't blame you for post poning.

I'm in ca and I would do non carb legal headers they anyone made good ones. Most smog places can't tell if they are aftermarket headers or not. As long as you don't have chrome or black headers.
I have headers on my 88 runner 3.0 and smog can't even tell.

Thats crazy you found some too! wicked.

In your video what are you screwing onto your valve stem?

Close! Trailhead deflators: http://www.amazon.com/TRAILHEAD-Tire-Deflators-Set-Red/dp/B005VF7M00

I've had a couple sets now and they are awesome. Come in several colors too! It's nice being able to air down while you drive too, once they are set.

How hard are those to adjust when you're out on the trail? Say if you have them set at 15psi and want to drop down to 12? Require a special tool or anything?

I have the ARB EZ-deflator and it's fast, but kind of a PITA to get all the tires even.

I'd appreciate a little review!

You wouldn't want to adjust them on the trails. Each deflator is adjusted with a small Allen key, I can't remember exactly what it is but it's something like each half turn CCW reduces pressure by 1psi. It takes a while to adjust at home never mind on the trails.

On a side note, I can't wait to see the Tundra in person Addison!

Yah, they are fairly difficult to setup. Once you get them dialed in though, they are great. Mine are currently set for 10psi but I want to raise them to 12 psi. If you set them at your upper limit, then if you need to make small adjustments on the trail you just get out and drop the extra 1-2 psi as normal with the back of the pressure gauge.

Thanks Janseman! I just wait for it to be back on all 4 wheels again.... diffs and headers should be in by Sunday!

Just checking in to say nice truck Rickashay!

Didn't much like the first gen Tundras. Then I saw yours and I can see their potential now. Cool build!

Thanks, glad I can persuade you otherwise! haha BTW those white knuckle sliders have been tempting me for some time. They are SO nice... just that price point is hard to swallow. Your rig is looking great!

Thank you sir! It's been, and continues to be, an absolutely perfect truck for me.

Yeah, the White Knuckle sliders are expensive, but they are soooo worth it. The design is great and the quality of the workmanship is just outstanding. Perfect bends, pro quality welds, and superb powder coating. I can't stress it enough, they are really well made. Plus they make them faster than any other fab shop I've looked into. I made my order and precisely three weeks later they were at my door. Great customer service as well.

Not trying to persuade you or anything :D

Just gotta figure out how to avoid the 30% exchange rate. It's really putting a damper on my mod purchases! haha

I agreee!!!! haha soo sick

Still on the fence with the bob. I'm loving all that bed space!

One thing at a time though. Got the headers installed last night. Have to extend the O2 sensor harness about 6 inches on both sides. Then going to put the rear end fully back together tonight and get that front diff in tomorrow!

Should have a rolling truck again in a couple of days!

Fox C/O's are actually supposed to land next week. Holy progress.

unless you are having major departure angle issues, I say keep the bed intact.
