Here's some of mine.

Can anyone tell me what year the Rovertype diff was designed and what vehicle it was designed for?

And the Series transmission? Same Q.

What year was it that LR switched from a Semi float rear axle design to a full float axle design?

In what year did Rover switch from the "Ball and Claw" tracta joint to the U joint at the swivel ball?

Why is the Salisbury axle called that? (no reference's to steak please)

In reading this I'm starting to think that maybe too much of my life has been spent below the frame rails!

The series transmission was adapted from the jaguar tranny, wasn't it? Other than that, I still have nothing.

The series II changed the lights from behind the grill to the same position, but with the grill not covering the lights. That was with the SII intro in 1958?

So why was the 86 changed to 88 and the 107 to 109? I mean what was the technical push behind these changes even though not all 109s and 88s benefitted from the development?

80,86 88 and 107 were the wheelbase for the vehicles. What were the different "styles" of Series I's that were shown to show off the different uses.

Wasn't the year 1971 that the series III came out with the lights on the sides?

We need to do a ride one of these days.

Absolutely need to get out. I am waiting on some weatherstripping to put my roof back on. Also have a couple of other things to do as well. If we would ever get some rain, fire season might end.

I will have to check for sure. I thought it was to accommodates new Australian regulations. As it was a larger market they did the "Bugeye" until they came out with the lights in the wings. They are kind of rare and in my opinion the uglier of the series trucks.

I had one of the rare "ugly" bugeyes for several years. One of the headlight panels was badly bent and torn. Since nobody sold replacement headlight panels my dad fabricated one and did a fantastic job matching it to the other panel, even matching the slight "eyebrow" above the turn indicator light. Still searching for it to buy it again.
