Actually, 1948 is not necessarily true. Huey is either the first Production Land Rover in July? of 1948, first Pre-production Land Rover in 1948, or the FIRST Land Rover built in 1947.

From what I remember it is considered to be #1.It was sold to a farmer in 1948. development began in 1947.
