I think the 16th is a little long for our roofs. That being said a little 12 foot with maybe 5 hp motor would fit and be pretty cool.

After a few side projects I am back working on rover. Currently swapping out main battery. I thought the Yellow top was dying (about a year old) but after testing a couple different things I realized that the main bat was dead and pulling it down. the old battery is an Interstate and it is dated at 5 years old....going with the same battery as a replacement. I also installed a hoist in my garage. This allows me to quickly and easily remove the roof rack (and other heavy items) while working alone. After my last trip I had to repair the cover to my fox wing awning and properly mount my hi lift and shovel. I am also thinking about mounting a section of 3 inch black PVC pipe to the passenger side (op of foxwing) for water while at camp. Would attach a hose outlet and a tire valve so that I could pressurize it using the ARB. my only concern is that much weight up high.
I currently have two trips on the books.
1. 5 days leap frogging 4 hikers has they hike the Benton MacKaye trail, Meeting up with them each night to camp.
2. 5 day hiking trip to the Pisgah.

Also... the ARB compressor will run a nail gun. Used it to build a shed where I had no power.

Hit a major wall. My shop and most of my house burned to the ground last Sunday. Family made it out safe and so did rover. I have insurance and will rebuild. Just a huge setback. We know the fire wasn't arson but cause is still u known. Here are video and pics

IT got so hot my boat melted

That's tragic news man. I'm happy to hear everyone is safe though. Best wishes.

Well the new house is almost finished and the projects have begun. I am starting to have considerable suspension issues. I will be doing a coil swap within the next week or so and plan on selling my air struts and compressor. And I'm talking about a fire sale guys. Will post up the links once I have them listed on eBay.
In other news do you guys think this steel rim will work on rover?

I have not contacted the seller and I do not know what it's weight rating is. I have purchased a small teardrop trailer and want to have matching rims and tires as this tow vehicle. Or atleast for them to all be inter changeable.

I am interested in all your height sensors if they were working. I.e. Not the reason your switching to coils. ;)

So someone will certainly chime in with the obligatory 'don't swap to coils, it will ruin the truck' Since I got here first, I'll just say-no, it won't. I love mine. That said when you go to tow you will have lost out on one of the best attributes of the EAS, the self-leveling in the back and the handling it brings to bear.

As far as your steel wheel that looks like a fairly standard aftermarket rim...i.e. a wide range of vehicles for application-with Rover's not really being one b/c of the 38 offset of the rim, whereas ours are 53...now reportedly some have run other wheels w/o issue but I'd be reluctant to buy 6-8 (assuming spare's for both the truck and the trailer) w/o knowing that.
