Beautiful pictures. I grew up in Dhahran and was fortunate to have parents who liked to explore and they took us with them everywhere. Najran, the Rub-A-Khali, Asir, Madain Saleh, and so much more. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. The train and station were not restored when I was a kid there, it looks awesome.

Late reply but simply superb photos! Excellent use of perspective and the morning/afternoon light to best advantage. You are lucky to have the freedom to explore the little-known corners of the Kingdom. Dig the expedition Tj/Lj. Is that an AEV Highline kit fitted?

All my time on the Arabian Peninsula was on the East/Gulf side (Kuwait) and it was not nearly as attractive. Nothing but flat sand out there, no terrain features at all.
