Great thread! Yeah, I felt no requirement to include a Jeep in every photo. Used the Jeep as a tool, to get where I wanted. Love the Jeep. Love the awesome country even more!

I'll admit, getting here took a bit of a walk, after parking the rig. It's okay, I like walking too:

Good for you, not every picture needs to have a view of your vehicle in it.

There's horse Island (not sure about access. We fly over it sometimes) and Shackleford banks.

that may be it. I just did a quick web search, and it may not be just one island, but all along the outer banks.
I saw a picture where people were in a campsite, and the wild horses were just meandering around them.
Beautiful horses, in an awesome setting.
