Great pics!! I left Florida and moved here 8 years ago just to explore Utah. I flew out in '93 just to mountainbike Slickrock and was hooked. I went back every year until I finally made the move. Now that you've been there, your life will revolve around getting back. Trust me :smiley_drive:

It's been the same for me with Wyoming. It's been four years since I went out there first and am finally moving out this year if all goes well.

I went up and down some surprisingly steep obstacles and didn't rub the bumpers once. I was super impressed and happy with that! I took a video on this little hill, that I promise is a lot steeper than it looks, to show the approach and departure angle. I have no doubt that the old rear bumper would have dragged here-

Awesome trip man! I am trying to plan a Moab trip next year with the family. I would love to put the old Ford to good use on some trails and not always worry about squeezing between trees all the time! I will probably need at least a rear locker though to be able to crawl and not have to bounce up everything. It is great to see mods that not only make your truck look bad *** but are fully functional as well.

The weather last weekend was a mix of thunderstorms and sunshine. This weekend should be hot. Bring lots of water! Gearheads in town has free filtered water refills.

Current weather shows scattered rain through Thursday. Looks like the weekend should be dry. I'm heading to Grand Junction Friday stopping in Moab to hang out for a few. Saturday morning, I'll be picking up the Kokopelli Trail at Fruita Co and driving it to around Cisco UT (Hwy 128). Dinner in Moab and drive home. I'd love to do all day Saturday and Sunday but have to be home for a cook out in Flaming Gorge/Red Canyon Sunday.

I was all set on throwing the Wheelers 3-pack AAL and Marlin Crawler U-Bolt flip kit on the truck today, but got caught up in reading about a 63" Chevy swap..... need to do more research before I make any decisions.
Everything I've read implies you can carry a slightly greater load since they're 1/2 ton springs, but the springs are also softer so the ride is better on and off road, and flex is drastically improved. Sounds like a win win win.

"load capacity is a lot better. I was able to load a lot more stuff in the bed compared to the stock springs. On a camping trip I had the bed loaded with camping gear, stock springs brought the bed low. With the 63 chevies, I had the same amount of gear, added a generator and other stuff and the rear end did not sag as much as the stock springs." - Dyogim

New front spring hangar mounted 4" forward, center to center

Looks like you can mount the front hangar 4" forward as Mike did, and then the rear hangar in the stock location and use a shackle?
Then redo the mounts for longer shocks...
Thoughts? Input?
