How much did that reamer cost ya?

X2 and from where? I have a Parts mike 1 ton set up on my CJ and i'm not happy with the way the TRE fits into the drag link. I'd like to ream it out a little more but am a little confused on sizes of reamers...

That whole setup just looks pure beefy but what about the stabalizer? Any ill effects without it?
The reamer i used was the one linked at the bottom of the jcr 1 ton steering page. (speedway motors link) The bit is about $85! I have no use for it now so it is for sale if interested. I found drilling the pitman arm was the hardest on the drill bits and my drill. The bits would like to "bite" alot, twisting the drill from my hands. The reamer bit on the other hand cut very well and hardly ever "bit". The steering feels more light without the stabilizer, and at high speed on dirt/sand roads i feel i have to place the steering wheel with more precision as the steering seems to react more to the whoops and bumps. The feel of the wheel is not bad, i am very comfortable with it, it just feels lighter.

Considering the price of the reamer if the TRE on your cj does the job and isn't gonna wobble i wouldn't bother spending the cash. I do not know what TREs you have so i cannot speculate on the taper of the reamer you would need. 1 1/2" over 1' is a 7* reamer and is used for the JCR TREs, i believe they are GM TREs.

Trials

Today me and the wife got out to Rainbow falls just outside of Woodland park CO. Its no serious adventure of any sort but i have been there several times and really wanted to get the cherokee out on the trail for testing and first impressions offroad. I am VERY impressed with the OME springs! Even more so with the amazing valving in the Nitro Sport Shocks!! Everything performed better than anticipated. Never even bothered to unhook the sway bar! i was shocked how well the spartan performed but i believe i will be removing it to do a selectable shortly (dont like the idea of lunchbox lockers or the street performance).
Here are a few shots on "Moab Hill" and the trail. I dont intend to have this come across as a rock rig but it is an excellent place to test your rigs suspension.
THANKS FOR READING!

Man that thing came out great. Any plans for sliders or maybe rocker replacements?

By chance did you ever get those measurements?

I was curious about those and how they'd hold up over time. My judgement says they are bad *** looking but wouldn't they only be as strong as the factory rocker? They are 3/16 but upward force would still bend that & rocker wouldn't it?
Your doing a lot of what I want to do so I'll be crawling this thread a lot lol. Can't wait to see how everything turns out.

Nice job, I am LOVING those wheels! They came on my Jeep and wasn't planning on painting them, but damn those look good!

You have a great looking XJ, keep it up!

I was concerned about it as well but really liked the idea of having a higher clearance slider being that im on 31s. When i picked it up for the first time i was shocked, they are SOLID! They also have 3/16th plates that run to the frame, 3 per side if im not mistaken. Each side mounts with 35 fasteners! The slider bolts to the rocker, pinch seam, and "frame". I can imagine any bending or failure.

If you are sick of drilling holes in your dash and center console to mount all your switches you need to go to Prime4x4.com and check out their products!
They have a variety of panels for all year cherokees! This thing is sweet and really helps when wiring up accessories! Again i have failed to take photos during the install but its pretty straight forward. Remove the center console. Pop out the ashtray. Drill 4 holes in the center console for the mounting hardware. Build a wiring harness. (or order a harness from Prime4x4.com) Install panel. And re assemble console. I recommend running leads to the switches you do not have accessories for yet so you dont have to pull the console apart to wire new accessories! You can see my fog lights ran to one of the leads in the last picture.

That is the exact switch panel that's on my list! Glad to see someone else has installed it with success. Also, how's the JCR steering? Any dead spots? The steering debate seems like it never ends.

I highly recommend the switch panel! I got complements on it when i picked it up after the gear install. Dont forget to run leads to the footwell like i did in my pic. Dont want to pull it all apart just to get one wire to the panel!
The steering debate will never end and i am very happy with the jcr steering. No dead spot. I wanted to run it because it is a T link and i will never again have to deal with the stupid drag link sleeve or having to replace the drag link when the TRE goes bad. Also nice to know my steering will never fail being im running 31s.

That's a good point about not having to deal with the sleeve/replacing the drag link. I was thinking about just getting an upgraded tie rod, but I might save up for the JCR or SeriousOffroad setup, we'll just have to see!

It was between serious and JCR but i couldnt pass up on it during JCRs back in black sale! Never did trust that drag link sleeve!
