99' 4runner

1. Year, model, color, etc: 1999, 4runner, Green with gunmetal bumper

2. Name of owner/screen name: Trenton ~ 99grnrunner and xtadventure

3. How long have you owned your toyota? Is this your first? Owned since 02'.

4. Mileage at date of purchase and present mileage: 80,000 and now at 230,000 and still going strong...

5. Your favorite mods...: Bilstein Shocks/SS lift, TJM bumper, drawer/bed system/orvis dog cover, cooler/bike/firewood carrier

6. How your 4runner is used... ie. DD, family adventure, overland travel, etc.: Was DD, now M5 for that... as she sits is the Dog hauler, family farm truck and hunting vehicle, and Hauls boat/kayak/boards to the beach, flyrods to the mountains.

My truck:

1989 Toyota Hilux Xtra Cab.
Engine: 22RE with custom intake and snorkel.
Transmission: Replaced automatic with 5 speed manual
Front: Total Chaos long travel A-arms, Fox 2.5 external reservoir shocks, Sway-A-Way torsion bars, 7.5" open differential with 5.29 gears.
Rear: Downey spring pack, Fox 2.0 remote reservoir shocks, Tacoma 8" eLocker differential with 5.29 gears.
Brakes: Larger 4Runner front rotors and calipers.
Wheels: Tacoma 16 rims with BF Goodrich 255/85R16 KMR2 Mud Terrains tires.
Protection: ARB Bull Bar bumper with Warn 8000# winch with in cab remote control.
Communication: Kenwood Dual Band HAM radio.

Future mods:

Engine: Mercedes Benz OM617 5 cylinder turbo diesel.
Transmission: Upgraded 5 speed manual.
Bed: Custom flatbed with 10,000# Warn winch.
Fuel: Auxiliary fuel tank.
Brakes: T100 master cylinder, power booster and Tacoma/Hilux rear disk brakes.

Nice! Reminds me of my first 'Yota. '89 XtraCab in Super White too. Just never got it as nice as yours!

It's off to the bush tomorrow to take some poser shots.

There was considerable discussion as to the ARB sticking too far out, but it appears to be a non issue.

When I get a chance, I'll place nose to nose with Keoni's to do a comparison.

I'm quite pleased with it.

thanks for the non driveway/parking lot pictures. looks great and i have only see a few tacos in that color. it sure is a nice color in person

Area52 - incredible-looking truck! There's something about that color that I love every time I see pics of your Tacoma.

One thing you might want to consider is leaving a little larger gap between the bumper and the fenders. Looking at this pic, it looks like it's around 1/8" or less, and if I remember correctly (it's been a few months since I installed mine), ARB recommends something like 5/8"-3/4" of gap to avoid having contact between the bumper and the fenders when the frame flexes.
