I am working on my 2nd utility bed trailer, I sold the first one (Below) and bought one that had more features, just flipped the axle and installed some beadlock style wheels with a couple new BFG KM2 Mud Terrain's, started sanding it for the new paint job. I have lots of great ideas. Here is a picture of the old trailer I sold. will add pic's of the new trailer later!
So "burro" must" live up to its name right.added an aluminum utility shell, old confer rack sitting for many years and an inexpensive "bedslide" unit (craigslist" and the last pair of "tractor" lights .
Forgot to mention the "orange" thingies! Are inverted pony clamps, so far so good.Next is to lop front frame, to bed.Fabricate a replacement, and deeper deck for generator. Then rear bumper, ,dissassemble strip paint.
Just picked up this from CL. $450 for the whole truck. Hopefully I can free up some time soon to start building. Plan to tow it behind my RR Classic. View attachment 196011
I've been lurking on this forum for a while and thought it's time I made a post. Here's my little truck bed trailer. It's from a 70's Chevy Luv that we bought new for the family business and put a service bed on, so the original bed became a trailer. It's seen a lot of duty over the years from firewood, gravel, trips to the dump, hauling dirt bikes, etc. I gave it some much needed tlc this last spring. Now I'm thinking of making a slide in sleeping unit so I can use it as an adventure trailer.
If anyone were near Portland and follows this thread AND needs a project, this looks promising: http://portland.craigslist.org/grg/tls/4375129875.html
Its fiberglass, so thats a good start. I like that the forward cabinets are the larger style. Great for a frig or equipment you prefer to have the smoothest, less dusty ride. The raised rear doors seems good for stuffing even more stuff in back, and the existing rack could be perfect for a RTT. If I could get it to Phoenix, I'd buy it at any number at or below $1,000 assuming its in descent shape. Thats the beauty of fiberglass. They can grow weeds for 10 years and still be in great shape. I'd love to build an aluminum frame and see just how light a full size truck bed trailer could become.
