Here is my '83 XL600r- it needed some work so I completely stripped it, fixed it, and modified it for street use within 2.5 months of purchase.

Oops . . . forgot to post the Changing of the Thumpers that happened a few months back:
OUT WITH THE OLD (plated, highly-modded 1996 XR600R; see post #3 of this thread):
IN WITH THE NEW(er) (2008 DR-Z400SM)
The XR was an incredible bike, built from the frame up with impressive components, but its race-bike-level performance was wasted on me and I'd gotten to the point where the magic button was more valuable than the hot cam and the pumper carb. Nothing nearly so special about the DR-Z, but it's a good choice.

Met a group riding scooters, Groms and other small displacement bikes from New York to San Fransisco yesterday.
