not sure how much winter camping goes on in these forums but thought i would give it a go anyway :)

what kind of cold weather boots would you recommend for cross country skiing?
i want a boot that i can both wear while skiing AND have on when setting up camp and walking around.
have looked at the SOREL INTREPID EXPLORER for longer expeditions.
i need something good for at least MINUS 40!!

and what are some good bindings for these larger boots when skiing?

thanks in advance :)

Insulated Supergaiters add warmth to traditional ski boots.http://www.mtntools.com/cat/techwear/Gaiters/mountaintoolssupergaiters.htm

How about you tell us more on the skis you will be using.

3-pin 75mm nordic norm duck bill, NNN, or solomon bindings? Or would you use an old strap binding like this?

If you have the strap binding just get some US military bunny boots may be cheaper than the Sorels. I have Sorel Caribou boots with custom Intuition liners; warm, light and durable.
