i am not going endorse anyone here but will go with the old backpacker, colin fletcher saying "pick out the best bag you can afford and buy the next best one". this has served me well. highdesertranger

Down is better. I use an down 800 fill Marmont. It seems to be warm as soon as I slide in it. It does seem to be cold when I roll over. It's comply at a wider range of temps. It can be 6 or 60 and I'm not hot or cold. If I do get steamy it breathes and drys out. Hikers can weigh equal weight synthetic and down bags but after a week the synthetic keeps getting heavier. That's sweat and that's gross. Down airs out and stays lofty and Synthetic stays lumpy and looses its loft. I'm not up on what the experts say but that's my experience.

Sorry I missed this last year. To answer your question they are located in Grand Junction, Co. and as far as how much they put the discount out there as public knowledge I do not know, I was made aware of it because I stopped by at the factory and the nice lady at the sales desk told me about it. They also give a discount to military members as well.
Any way it looks like you came up with a good sleeping bag solution for you. After another year of use I'am still very happy with how well they work and the quality of construction. They are also very easy to keep clean.

No doubt. But the size bag I need is too costly at this time if I go with down. It's about $850... So I'll try the synthetic bags and pass them down to my tribe later when I can afford the Taj Mahal bag

The Teton Celsius XL bags came today from Amazon. At a glance, quality is pretty impressive (on par or even better than the nice Kelty bag we have) and for the price these are REALLY nice. Materials seem to be very good too again compared to my Kelty Corona 20 I like the Teton bags better. Longer too which is a big plus.
Will report back on how warm they are later.

My Celsius XXL 0 degree arrived also and I agree, very nice bag. Nice and ROOMY compared to my North Face mummy.
I noticed the loft isn't near that of my -10 NF Ibex. If I had to guess, it should be good to about 20 degrees or so. About what I figured to begin with, though.
Curious to hear your real world review....me, I'll wait till spring.

I ordered a gray/plaid for my gf and the green/brown for myself. Both are the zero degree versions in opposite side zip. Both were supposed to be the same size but one came in an xxl and the other xl. I laid them both on my bed to see if the size was different and it wasn't. Pretty weird. They are good for the price. We returned some pricey bags to REI that weren't standing up to the temperature ratings on those bags.

According to the specs the XXL is 3" wider than the XL. Length is the same.

Guys, for the money you can't beat the military 4pc bags currently available on eBay.
Most are like new, some even can be found new in the bag. The gortex bivy cover itself is worth more than the used price of the whole bag system $45-75 used and $85+ new in bag.
I would put these bags up against any expensive bag in any category except perhaps weight and small packing size.
Backpackers will need a lighter more packable type system.

I have plenty of experience with those. Great system and a great value, I just dont like the "mummy" sizing of those - leg and elbow room is minimal.

Second the Marmot bags... excellent quality and well worth the upfront cost. And kick-*** customer service.
