This is my .02 on this....

With entering into a river/lake you create a bow wave....with the bow wave and the movement of the rig.....I would think if you have the rest of your diff/trans. breathers high....water would leave them along....

But if you get stuck or stall....then your screwed anyway...

I think you'd be surprised how little vacuum there is on the "dirty" side of the filter in an airbox. Plus, this area will most likely be cleaner, with respect to airborne particulates, than the factory breather locations anyway, especially with a snorkel.

I'd just be sure you run the fittings into the airbox near the top, so any collected dust cant occlude or contaminate the hole.

Yeah.. That's a good point. Just master the bow wave and keep moving and you won't have to worry about it. :coffeedrink:
