Have a set of four that I grabbed off of Amazon. Worth it just to be able to reduce the total amount of legs that you feel the need to carry. Have four more en-route and I will retire all of my fixed length legs to the spares pile in the shop.

That's What my plan is!!! Then I could store my legs inside the space on my 3 Unit IGT... Looks like Amazon is about to have a run on Snow Peak Legs.... lol

Adding the "chiri-tori pot" to my SP collection. This is from rei.com. Clearly it isn't a pot and it looks too pretty to actually cook on it...any idea what I can use this for? I know...probably should have asked myself this question before I clicked buy...

I am looking for a little help here. I have the IGT 4, which seems to be less popular than the 3. I am trying to decide how to use the table the best. I was thinking of cooking in one place and then transfering to another place, but I have noticed that many seem to enjoy cooking and eating at the same place, or rather, doing both at the same time. I am thinking that this would be best. I am hoping the community can help me out with a few questions.

Height: I have the two of the low beach chairs by snowpeak, so I expect the middle height legs might be best, but not sure. I really like the chairs and want to use them. I worry that the sitting level of the table will be a little too high given the "low" sitting beach chair. Would the smallest legs work? If I go with the smallest legs, would it be about the same height as the fire pit?

Grill: I hear great things about the BBQ grill insert, but I have the Snowpeak firepit with the grill. I like using the firepit for a general campsite flame, and it seems redundant to go for the IGT BBQ. I am also trying to keep wieight and volume down, and I am not sure if I want to carry BBQ coal. I like the idea of adding existing fire pit to my cooking area.

Extention table or not: If I am sitting around the table to cook and eat, I am thinking that the table trays that slide into the side like TV dinner tray, as opposed to the larger extention table, might be better. The IGT 4 seems to need two of the smaller per side, but I can't even find these guys listed anywhere. Not even on the Expedition Edchange. Any after market options.

Transport: I can only fine a travel case for the IGT 3, not the IGT 4. However, does the table alone really need a case? Would rain really hurt the plastic or aluminum? All other items wil be kept in boxes, including legs if I don't go for the standing level.

As always- appreciates those with my same addiction help me with an optiomal set up given my goal of sitting around and cooking away from the vehcial, and not trying to do thing from the back of the vehcial.

Small Dog, as far as height goes, the Snow Peak Japan site shows that the 400 mm legs are ideal for your low chairs...

And if I recall correctly, the Jikaro table, which surrounds a fire pit, can use the IGT extension tables, and I think can use the 300 mm tall legs. You could, of course, measure how tall your SP fire pit is.

I run the 4 unit table with two side table extensions and a corner. The full extensions really give you the space you need. I chose the tall height for everything. I have found for food prep and staging buffet style, this works best for me. When eating, we have an old wood roll top table that we set up separately.

When cooking these days, I run a Baja burner and a Skottle with the insert. These two have been able to satisfy all my needs and all together pack down smaller than my old set up. The Skottle really does a lot and is really flexible. If I know I want to grill... I have a pack and carry fire place, magma grill, or Weber Charcoal grill I can bring. But will most likely just carry the pack and carry.

Transport is the biggest frustration.I really want a couple nice padded cases to slip the tables in. However, I will be ordering some of the straps Yuma is selling to put things together. But, I am making due for now. I use the front runner transit bags and wolf packs for my kitchen set up. I found that the 4 unit frame fits perfect in the extra large transit bag with the three boxes in it. right now I just wrap it with part of a moving blanket. In the box would work too. then zip up the bag and strap it down. I havent tried with both extensions yet. Might be just a touch too tight.

Hope this helps.

I don't have a solid timeline for a bag (just yet) But I made one for my 3Unit IGT kit a couple of years ago. it's basically a cover that goes around your IGT once it's all strapped together. Once I'm all caught up on strap kits, I'll start working on producing those as well as a cover for the chopping board knife set. For everyone I've been in touch with and those who are in the works on ordering a strap kit; please let me know when you're ready to order. My first few sets are done and will go out as soon as the new labels arrive. In the meantime I'm starting on another run tonight. I'm going to start making the common items in order to reduce the lead time once orders are placed. First come first served. I appreciate all of the interest in the strap kits. AFAIK the jikaro table bag will accommodate a 4 Unit IGT....
As far as the elements go.... the IGT will be fine. The bamboo tables should be okay, too as long as the clearcoating is good. I've had my setup in the rain, covered in ice.... you name it; no issues....

here is my thoughts on a few things
first the BBQ I have the SP one sadly here seems we get so many burn bans I cant use it to often ?
I kinda wish I bought a large firepit with all the accessories to do BBQ ! I love the BBQ for the IGT but I think doing again I would go firepit first

leg height I use the low legs more as I just like that feeling and it fits our helinox chairs

we do this setup a lot I love the pieces that allow you to set the bamboo tables lower :)
5_13_06.jpg

if you can make a set of adjustable legs or get there new adjustable legs maybe :)
I like the lower ones when eating some foods and some I need to be a bit more under the table

when we go to a place with a normal picknik table I just setup the IGT and not the bamboo to eat at but I love having one to the side of me for prep etc..

not sure what extension table ? I have the stainless ones that go in the side holes are about 7 inches or so deep ? I use them sometimes and handy

for cases I use the vinyl one for the IGT and the canvas one for my bamboo parts
main reason is I clean my igt but it can be greasy etc.. also weight !!! with two bamboo and the IGT it gets heavy when the wife or kids want to help its way to heavy for them to huff around

OH I have the 4 and prefer it over the 3 I had some 2s which I loved the size but trying to cut down on having so much so sold them :) I just think if you get the 3 get the 4 I can put 3 items in it with a bit of space for things

I do think a lot of this depends on how you camp where you camp do you have kids how much setup etc I have changed some and narrowing things down more and more but like anything I love the stuff so its also fun to play and change and constantly improve as that is half the fun for me to tinker with camping gear :)
