Well after much ado I finally pulled the trigger and picked up the starter kit from REI and included the coal bed.
Very cool !
I quite like the coal bed. Yes it is heavy, but the Fireplace is all about durability and packability not weight
Also nice to see the new style bridge. It should be stainless instead of Chrome plated. Like that
The large fireplace is my most used SP product . You will not be disappointed!

Snow Peak site had it... Backcountry Gear did, too.... These dang vendors nee to get their $hit together... sheesh!
REI had it a week or two ago; I got one with their MEMLOVE20 20% off coupon... Just arrived last week. I'm sure they'll get it back in stock soon.
I think SP has all sizes of the fire pit in stock right now; just not the starter kit. REI has some of the stuff for it right now (they only sell the large pit), like the bag, the bridge, the coal bed, and the grill...

That is a nice usage of that 20% off! I got one of those new non-stick GSI Glacier pans with mine, but that thing was only $40 to begin with hehe
yeah Snow peak just got all the individual parts back in stock but it's at least $35 more plus tax to get all those parts individually. So I'm hoping for more stock of the starter kit... Also heard some rumors that tomorrow might be the day for new IGT stuff to debut at the flagship stores. Probably saw it on here somewhere, but I'm going to be keeping an eye out tomorrow just in case...

I pieced my set-up between Snow Peak, REI, and CampSaver. I couldn't get it all as a set from one place. But, I had it all within a week.

You guys are still lucky. I have never found any IGT item and hardly any SP items other than mugs, the small burners and camp-tidbits for sale in Europe
There was a European distributor in Germany for a while, but they left several years ago.

I'm just about finished with the first Snow Peak Oven carrying case.... no lie; I've got over 12 man hours into this thing..... even though I'm at a loss on the price, I'm extremely happy with the finished product.
