Funny...I just picked up the same cheap fuel canister yesterday to try it out. WORKS PERFECT. $1.99 @ my corner market. I'm heading over to the .99 store today to search for the CHEAPEST can out there. I'll report back!

They sell them in a boxed multi-pack at some Asian stores for closer to $1.30/can. I have not seen them any cheaper. If you find them for $0.99, let me know! The torch also works great for wiping out massive numbers of ants when they are making trails around your house without leaving any chemicals behind--just be careful that you don't set your house on fire!

For those of you with the Iron Grill Table; which height leg did you end up choosing and why? If you were to choose again, would you still get the same height legs? My dilemma is I don't want to get the cooking height legs and then get the lower height legs with the drop attachment for the bamboo table. I keep going back and forth between getting the taller legs all around, and just deal with it when sitting down to eat at the table; or get the sitting height legs all around and just deal with cooking at the lower sitting height legs. If only their legs were adjustable between those 2 heights.
What are your thoughts?

I got the longest legs because I am 6'3" and when I sit down, the table is at a good height for me. It might be a bit high for shorter people, but then it depends on what you are sitting on too. None of the heights work well for me if I am standing. If you hope to use it when sitting mostly, you should sit in your camp chair and see what height table is best for you. Remember that since this is a Japanese product, the Japanese are known to sit on tatami mats next to a very low table when eating (in certain circumstances) and they therefore have some rather short table legs available for this purpose. You will likely choose one of the two longest lengths unless you want to mimic this Japanese tradition.

I love the snow peak equipment and hope to add some serious items soon (IGT, knives, etc). We use the titanium bowls and plates all the time for my kids. I picked them up for camping a few years ago but then decided I would get more utility out of them if we used them everyday. They are great for my three kids b/c they can't be broken, clean up easily and don't get slimy like some of the plastic or acrylic childrens plates. I also have a different colored titanium spork for each kid. They love them!

I picked up the torch and it's pretty beefy. Makes me feel like I'm using my acetylene torch. :sombrero:
Found a 4 pack of gas canisters at an Asian market for about $7. Not too bad.

It is very versatile. However, note that a set-up like his would be extremely expensive. If he didn't get his own gear at dealer cost or quite possibly free as a demo, I doubt he would have all that. Like anything else, I would take into consideration your needs and set a budget unless you own an orchard of those trees that grow money. As nice as Snow Peak gear is, there are many much less expensive options.

Nobody "NEEDS" any of this stuff. You could just go look for a campsite that has the picnic tables and built-in BBQ. Although... the much less expensive option would be to simply stay home, because we don't NEED to go overlanding.
It's a WANT thing. You don't have to have the money tree orchard to afford Snow Peak stuff. All you need is the desire to have nice things.

Ho makes good points, and if I came across in any negative way, that wasn't my intention. Considering how few dealers there are in the U.S. that offer Iron Grill Table components, I am surprised that Snow Peak wouldn't provide demonstration units to the dealers for free in order to promote them. Since that is often the case with other companies, I had assumed it would be true for SP.
Now that I have gotten that off my chest, I wish to clarify that I am myself a huge fan of Snow Peak products and I have accumulated quite a few of their items. While Snow Peak sporks, backpacking stoves, headlights, and some of their other mass marketed offerings are ubiquitous and are priced competitively, their more upscale products are not only harder to find dealers for, but are priced much higher. They don't go on sale, and they sell for at or very close to the suggested retail price. I think that many of these products are beyond the means of the typical overlander's budget. Their charcoal chimney, for example, is a fantastic-appearing product, but how many people are going to spend $150 on that?
With the IGT, I like the fact that it is modular. You can get a starter set up for about $500 and add to it over time. From what I can see in Ho's pictures, his set up would retail well above $1000. I may be wrong, but I suspect that many people (despite Snow Peak envy) will be put off by those numbers and will opt for something cheaper. Obviously I wasn't, and I just yesterday visited Ho's store (Expedition Exchange) and added more pieces to my IGT. I am looking forward to using my IGT table extension and cookware this weekend if the weather is agreeable. While at EE, I also saw a new SP product for 2012 that Ho may wish to post pictures of. Without going into more detail about it, I will say as a hint that it looks like it would work well if you wished to make dolsot bibimbap.
