I love this. Don't sacrifice quality, or anything else for that matter. It will be the best when it arrives :)

Our best intensions were Summer 08. But we are a small company and our production schedule has not slowed down in over two years. Squeezing in a new trailer has been difficult.

The process of developing a new trailer is always long, but this trailer has been more arduous than most.

We want to select the best materials for construction and not all of the issues have been solved in getting the materials to perform the way we want them to.

You will not see this trailer in 2008. We do not intend to rush the process and produce a trailer that isn't of the highest quality.

It would be pointless to rush head and manufacture a trailer that was less than stellar.

The bad news is, you are going to have to wait.

The good news is, we are planning a separate R&D department some time in the future.

I think your r&d department should be in another facility maybe,, to keep testing optimum,, maybe setup a nice r&d division up here in the Pa mountains..
just a thought..

Labor and real estate are less expensive in north Georgia --- and they could be a mere hour's drive from Tellico for testing...

Put the R & D dept on long island, then you have both coasts covered. yeah the rent will be high the labor will be high, the local and state taxes are high, the mob tax is high and fuel is alot. but there's lots of rich folks who will think they need one of these trailers, theyll pay top dollar and then sell them used a year or two later so everyone else can afford one..

what a plan...

Just another fact to prove AT is a top notch company! The terms fools rush in are never more true lol. Stay the course and keeping the quality, way to go guys. It's always better to do it right the first time. We'll wait!

I think I remember reading it takes the likes of a major automobile manufacturer something like 5-years to get a new 'clean sheet' design from concept to showroom. Not shorting your challenges M&M but automobiles are considerably more complex in design; however the Big 4 have millions (err...maybe that should be "had" millions  ) and teams of high level engineers and designers that accelerate the prototype process.

Most folks don't really understand/appreciate the sheer time it takes to go through a new product design process and the relative challenges this involves; especially for a small manufacturer/relatively low volume product (relative to automobile manufacturers) maker trying to keep up with current model demands and production of same.

And if you look at most products their intended/engineered life cycle is significantly longer than your trailer models have been to date M&M. You guys have really accelerated this aspect of your product: You've introduced (didn't happen without LOTS of time and effort on your parts) several suspensions, trailer refinements, trailer models, fuel can holders, etc. just within the last 36-months! I am not aware of another product outside of the computer industry (and they sell millions of units) that has "awarded" their clientele with such marvelous design improvements in such a short period of time.

We will all appreciate your perseverance M&M and typical attention to detail in this process. Congratulations to you both, Ann, Scotty and your entire team for wanting to go to the 'next level' with this new trailer design!!!

Now get back to work...you have a bunch of impatient folks like myself that don't want to wait! :sombrero:

Finally a trickle down approach that may work!

I didn't mean to stir anything up. I just want to let you guys know the interest is still there.

No problem Mate.

I think we all know that things take longer than expected at the best of times.

X2!

I was not complaining, just seeking an update since I spend 1/2 my time OCONUS and plan my trips/purchases around my deployments :)

Thanks for the update Martyn, I shall patiently await it's unveiling

FWIW, the Missus is an AT skeptic (the bathroom issue) and I now have HER waiting to see the final cut before we make a trailer purchase ;)

Okay now I'm complaining. :xxrotflma

We camped the last two weekends with our new (to us) tent trailer. The SO is happy again, it is so much better than tent camping for her. Setting up and breaking camp is fast and easy, and almost any site works, all of which I like.

What we did not like was being concerned about taking a couple of trails the rest of the group did, and getting denied on the Steel Pass road.

We want the new AT trailer. :jumping: :jump:

Man, I just scanned this entire thread and couldn't see a single pic.... Did they get removed?? :(

Looks like they have been pruned.

Here they are again.

The project is still alive and we are working hard on it. I don't want to disappoint anyone by giving a release date, you will all be the first to know when we are ready to start taking orders.

Beyond that nothing more to say.
