Super cheapo van build, it's my fourth E350...

I have the paperwork that came with the kit, but doesn't have any info on trouble shooting.
I picked up another cruise control button setup and will try tomorrow.
It's so simple to install all this stuff...easy. but I'm guessing that the current C C buttons are configured slightly different.
No pinched or damaged anythings... and virtually impossible to install incorrectly.
I'm going to keep at this so I can break 24.5 mpg ! (On hwy trips)

Disconnect the airbag/horn button and see if the cc switch works. I'll bet either the steering wheel is screwed up or you have a wire pinched.
I miss the 20+ mpg days.:smiley_drive:

After switching the cruise control buttons I HAVE A WORKING SYSTEM! ! !
! couldn't be happier... with one complaint. From the short drive at the same speeds on the same roads I lost 1.2 mpg. But I think long term it will be the same or better than before.

It's so nice and hard to explain how happy I am.

Thanks for those who helped me.

I'm not surprised you lost mileage. I know for a fact I can pull down better mileage manually than I can with a cruise control, as long as I'm paying attention and TRYING to do it. I only use it when I'm being lazy.

Mine locks at 43... had the guys at 5 Star Tuning lower the lock up point so in town speeds wouldn't raise the tranny temps.
And I think it does stay locked when the cruise control is activated... I'll pay attention to see.

Thanks for the tip/ insight.

After watching the tq slip/ lockup guage, you're correct. Its doesn't free wheel down hills any more, therefore it is killing a few tenth of a mpg

But its make driving a lot easier.

That's what i figured out from my own experiments..... Over the same stretch of highway i frequent, my van gets 17 mpg with the cruise set at 73 mph (GPS) and 20 mpg @ the same 73 mph when driving by foot.....there are quite a few hills and being able to build free downhill momentum for the next uphill is the difference maker....With the cruise set the van only knows speed and cant see that hill coming..... When the speed drops it will downshift and in my tuned 6.0 a highway downshift is an eye opening experience.... it really punches it!

In the mountains i just drive by foot as it is way more calm and efficient.

It is amazing though how much stress is removed from the driving experience by just eliminating that one task.. enjoy!

Glad I look under the hood from time to time...

Just replaced it with Ford Motorcraft belt... a whopping $89.95+ tax.

You defintely saved yourself from a future headache. A couple years ago I had one that's started to shred on me and chanced it for 15 miles and one of the rob came off and took out one of the trans fluid lines. Smh. You may have a pulley out of alignment or a bad tensioner?

I think the tensioner might be getting weak, but everything else appears to be ok. I think that because it too is a f' cheap part, not Motorcraft.
Shame on me, but a few months back I simply didn't have the extra $ to spare.

I'm cheap... you guys are learning, right?
I found some SS 2 inch pipe in the garbage at my friend's shop.
I asked him if he could weld it into place for me. Four tacks later and I now have a discreet fishing pole holder. LOL

The cool factor is that under the plastic bumper cover is a hole that is nearly perfect for this...
