the white silicone I used was to fill between the two layers of the hood to prevent dirt and water becoming a later problem.

finished product ACTUALLY WORKS, I can feel the heat rising out of the two vents... not a little breeze but massive amounts of hot air.
And it only cost me $10 with free shipping! took me about 30 mins. SO easy not worrying about cutting the hood. This was essentially a test run, I hope to find a stock white hood that doesn't have the emblem in it. Then I'll do this again!
I bought them from : http://www.amazon.com/Astra-Depot-C...TF8&qid=1442906495&sr=8-1&keywords=Hood+vents

Btw... I did the vents back on 6/8/15 and no negative water issues.
And I think i reviewed them on page 6 or 7 of this thread...?

With the muffler, it's too freaking quite! Dare I say more than stock...
It doesn't wven sound like a diesel, I'm disappointed and might put the 4 inch muffler delete in. But I'll try a few days as is.

Took care of a small antifreeze leak and pressure tested. All good.
If i can find a place that has CAT ELC I am putting that in... but it seems to be a challenge.
The shop said he can get it but will cost me $33 a gallon. Is that a fair price?
I didn't think so...

I've also have on the list of to do for tomorrow.

I wanted / needed to do the partially collapsed D. Side ball joint but since it's just sitting at the shop they wanted to get some of the stuff I already had and easily obtained parts.

All front ball joints
Front calipers.
4 brake rotors and pads.
Install 4 Bilstein shocks.
Clean and repack front bearings.
Drop trans pan, replace filter and oil.
Replace rear end oil, with LSD additive.
Suck oil out of oil reservoir, the small amount on the top of the motor.
Flush all brake fluid.
Flush all PS fluid.
Get gauges on the A/C and see if we can get it colder.
Drop fuel tank, inspect it and install pick up line for the Espar D4 heater I plan to install later this week.
See if it can be harpooned while down also.

Lots done already and a full day tomorrow.

But i need help with the adapter for the water temp sender.
What size is the place on the driver's side block and is there another location to mount?

Moar pictures, today was painful, no blood but my pocket has a big dent in it now.

I'll just let the pictures do the talking but if you have questions feel free to ask.

Ran into a few catches.
Could not loosen both front bleeders.
No drain plug on the converter.

Unable to loosen the up-pipes connected to the Y going to turbo. Found exhaust leak but can't find the the two metal crush gasket.

Ugh!

That would save me $50 but not the time to wait and install tomorrow is the last day to work at the shop... he's leaving for vacation. But I'm glad we got this far.

Observer
If it changes anything I replaced my up pipes in the driveway with simple hand tools over the course of about an hour and a half. The hardest part for me was getting the baby's butt off the turbo.

good luck
