What about a Sprinter with a Iglhaut 4WD conversion (full-time 4WD, new suspension, three lockers, etc.)? Yes it's expensive, and yes you have to ship it to and from Germany. However (diesel engine issues aside), if you're in the roughly $300K market, could this be a contender for the Goldilocks Award (comfort vs. off-roading) along with the Paragon?
From your link:
1. Heavy-duty front axle and independent suspension upgrade with 4 inches of lift over stock
2. Available front differential lock (driver selectable)
3. All-new transfer case with 2.5:1 low range and locking center differential (driver selectable)
4. Standard and optional skid plate packages
5. 35-inch tire standard fitment, 37-inch tire option
6. Snorkel with pre-filter (separator)
7. Optional big brake package
8. Optional adjustable coil-over suspension system with remote reservoir
9. Larger fuel tanks, up to 170 liters (45 gallons)
So I would say yes great balance of livability and offroad capability. I did not know 37in was doable on a sprinter. And this transfer case ratio is great too. Now the whole coming from Germany thing sounds like a hassle big enough that I would probably just be content with Full van compass shocks + upgraded leaf package + 34in tires, again with the logic being size and weight of those rigs would be what limits me most often offroad.
Where are pictures of your Tune build? Thank You.
I have to take good pics and maybe a walkaround video. If and when I do, I will post in an appropriate location not here on the Paragon thread.
