Sure Power Battery Separator/Interconnect Model 1314-200

Assuming the alternator output is less then 100 AMP, is there any reason the 1314-100 would not work? The 1314-100 is rated for 100 AMP continuous, 400 AMP peak. Cost is $40 less then what I've seen for the 1314-200.

That's what I'm thinking as well. I know the National Luna kit, which comes highly recommended, only uses an 85A solenoid.

Here is a picture showing the simple bracket I made to move my cruise control module towards the front of the vehicle by approx 3".

Sure Power update

Time for an update.

Yesterday I received my replacement sure power. They actually sent me the 1315-200 instead of the 1314-200. All that means is that this unit will connect both batteries as long as the main or aux see a voltage over 13.2V. For example, the unit will connect with the engine running (alternator is providing the charge) or if I connect a battery charger to the spare battery. The 1314-200 will only connect if the main battery sees a voltage over 13.2V. They call it bi directional (1315-XXX) unit as opposed to a uni-directional (1314-XXX) unit. Hope this makes sense.

Anyhow, I've installed the replacement unit and it works fine. I'm going to wait for a few weeks and report on how it's holding up.

Sure Power is about 10 minutes away from my house, I wounder if they would sell me one if I went there.

I found terminal boots at West Marine, both straight and angled. Perhaps Aussie marine supply shops sell them as well.

Well folks, this is an old thread however I just found this on the Australian ARB website (they distribute the Sure Power units down under).

Having had one of these fail and seeing this would make me question any future use but I'll leave that decision up to you...

I don't currently have the Sure Power unit as I sold the Tacoma. I'm currently running the National Luna unit and it's been trouble free for two years now. I would strongly consider the Redarc unit as they are Australian designed and manufactured. They are expensive but as they say, you get what you pay for.
