Surplus radios

What about taking the mics off and just using them as scanners? The NB/WB thing wouldn't matter much until there were interstitial freqs in use.
I'm sure they could function as receivers only. Narrowband reception seems to lower the audio level by about half in my experience. As long as there is enough volume to hear Ok, you'd be fine. I was thinking that one could be set up as an internet gateway. It could act as an APRS receiver. I have been a little too busy to take on another project like that though.

Next year I will have a repeater that is replaced. That will go to a local club. I hope we can put it into service very close to its current location as the valley coverage is very good. The Alvord a Steens country would benefit from its coverage.

I will say that I am very pleased with the responses and that some of these will find new homes. Forgive me if I confuse some of the details and need some clarification. I have about ten different people that I am trying to put things together for now. In between that I am programming, installing and helping out. All this in my "spare time".
Thanks for you patience.
I will be out of town for the next few days, but hopefully I will have some WiFi to check in.

moto stuff

Please PM me if you have any HT1000 gang chargers. Also would be interested in any of the accessories if you have them: chargers, antenna, speaker mics, car chargers.

Thanks,

All the HT1000 stuff shipped out this week. Nine radios with chargers and all the accessories that I had. The new owner should be receiving them as we speak.
I'm sure he will contact you if he has anything to spare. I am out of the HT1000 supplies now.

Too bad I did not think to keep our old charging station :( It went to the landfill.

Got them thanks for the radios, will put them to good use.
Awesome!
To date I have shipped out 27 radios it various locations across the US. I know a couple happy amateurs that have been using their mobiles locally too.
I think that I may have figured out how to salvage a couple myself.
I still have a small stack, but I am feeling very good that so many have gone to better use. Some of the pile I have left are probably junk. I still have a couple dozen replacements to install. It will be interesting to see what models are added to the pile.
