I wonder how much it weighs? I have watched the video a few times and still have not figured out the exact weight. Will give it another look.

It is interesting watching the vehicle sink under the weight as the units are loaded in the opening shot. Cant be a very light setup.

Whatever it weighs, it is worth it if it gives you (or your traveling partner) "hot shower dreams." ;)

I just want to know why the chick had on her clothes when she was waking up? That's not how it's supposed to be.

Actually I think it's a really cool idea for what it is- a way to get the masses into camping utilizing whatever compact vehicle they have.

I agree. On the website they show it working in a small hatchback. Not much room when sleeping. And if it starts raining, all the smiles will be gone.

Oh, I don't know. I think it's been established many times over that just because one owns outdoor gear doesn't mean one uses said gear. :)

Second, and I'm not sure if Hadley's post was a criticism of this product or the hatchback or something else, but rain is what it is. Regardless of the vehicle or gear your brought, rain is often a drag.

Leave no room to spare, this thing is outradgeious..(what does that mean? Combination of outrageous, ingenious, and just plain rad. You read it here before the Websters or Merriams.) :Wow1:
I'm thinking hard about not building a TACO, and thinking swissroombox under my topper. Added bonus is the 220 volt system. If it comes here, would open a world of Euro products, and they have some outstanding equipment that would expand the opportunities for this, as well as the idea that could take to good portion of the planet, and still find hook ups that would work. 110 is dead end for most anywhere but USA.

I found a rechargeable alkaline fan in a goodwill/bargin bin, came from France. What it did to get out here, I don't know. Works great, just didn't come with a charger, so I have to use NIHM batteries, till I source a 220 volt charger/adapter/downgrader to charge the thing states side. Kept the rechargeable alkalines for now.

I'm even considering it for my 4 door Honda Accord work car. Take out the rear back seat, and away we go....

Does figure I should have come here to read about it. I caught it today, and you guys were 4 days into this thread before I even sighted it...lol. http://strayjournal.com/turn-your-car-into-the-worlds-smallest-motorhome

Oh yeah, that's half the point. Maybe the whole point. Adventure travel in any vehicle you want. Make it fun, make it easy, make it epic. I think the swissRoomBox goes hand-in-hand with the "Sub-Compact Overlander" idea (thread: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49381).

I like it, lots of innovative thinking. Won't be long and someone will take the basic concept and run with it, making it stronger for our abuse.

Cheers for the post Articulate!

After I watched the video the set up made me think 4 things:

....
and now that I wrote all that this product just makes sense when I see that it comes from a place that has a higher urban density that many of us are used to, and the thought out design reflects that.

Ultimately I recomend traveling anywhere with a foxy brunette:ylsmoke:
I think no matter how grande your rig is, you'll fill that puppy up. I certainly do, and to the point that it's comical - no matter if I'm solo or packing four people inside.

That's partly why I like this compact Swiss concept so much, the maximizing of space. And a little sense of style. :)
