Some progress on the tear down. Got the sides off and now just need to drop it on the new frame. New axle & suspension (still not sure if i want to go independent or solid) and then the real fun begins

More progress today. Tires on sides clamped on and wood laid down. Next step is finding the steel for the top of the railings.

Telescoping roof top tent rack and cargo rack 90% done. This things starting to look like an actual trailer now!! Just ordered spring loaded locking pop pins. Then need to weigh the rack so i can get the gas struts to lift it up and down.

I also wanted to say that I love the Idea of running the TAT. Let me know when you come through Arkansas, and I may ride my bike with you or take the truck along. I live on the western side of Arkansas and have rode most of the TAT through here. When are you planning on going?

Thanks! I will be leaving middle of May and will most likely be in Arkansas by the end of May. I want to do the first Half of it relatively quick since that section i can't see it being extremely interesting. That would be awesome if you did that! I am always up to meet new people. Definitely keep in touch and we can set something up!

This past sunday we finally got the pop pins in place for the rack system and completed the stabilizer jacks. We were also able to get the back side of the fenders started before we had to call it quits. Hopefully we can finish up the sides this Sunday.

For sure! I ride the western side all the time on dual sport. Several really cool restaurants. You can also stay at the TAT shack if you wanted a roof for a night. If you needed a place to do some maintenance or repairs I can arrange that too.

Sunday we finished up the sides. Looking for some fenders that I like online and will be ordering those in the the next day or so.

Next step will be finding the air struts for the rack system. I am having trouble finding the ones that will work for what I need.

After that we will be completing the side doors and tailgate and figuring out how to get the lid I made to work with the rack system being there.

Great news.... She Drives Straight!! Finally linked her up to the jeep and drove her around the block a couple time and she's pulls like a dream, the best part is she jack knives 90 just like i wanted it to.

Today we got the gas struts mounted for the telescoping rack (Hence why it's locked in the upper position, normally would drive with it lowered). We also got the tailgate made today. Tomorrow I will be ordering some metal braces for the wood like from an old truck bed similar to the one below. Hopefully i can get some sheet steel so i can get to work on that to next Sat. Stay tuned!! :)
