If you didn't see it, find Mhiscox thread on his new Aev jeep, he had great things to say about Dennis Dillon Jeep in Idaho, he indicated that people fly in from all over to buy there. They sell Rams

Cunningham, You lucked out.

now you can buy a GMC 2500 Duramax that gets 20 mpg unloaded, 17 loaded, rides and handles like silk, loaded or not, off road or not. With Heilwigs added to the rear, I forget my camper is on to the extent that if I'm not careful I'm going to rip into the canopy of my favorite drive-thru coffee stand....

Thank you everyone. Nice to hear this isn't somehow something I did. I'm just flabbergasted. The cost of this truck isn't something to sneeze at and you'd think the dealerships would be a little bit more attentive to the QC and customer service process. I'm so dismayed, I have considered cancelling my order for the camper and just eating the deposit. I haven't gotten the motivation to start the truck purchasing process again. Still steaming....

Don't let a dealer ruin it for you, as far as I'm concerned most dealers are Jerks.
It's a big purchase, but I find when I obsess over the details, things don't go as well as if I relax a little.
Fast forward to the end game, driving a new truck around with a sweet camper on the back, try not to let a couple ripples get you down.

not that young flytime. And in all fairness to your fellow posters, I think they are just being gentlemen coming to the rescue of damsel(s) in distress.

Re-ordered tonight thru different dealer. They said the other place probably never ordered it and they were trying to offload their existing inventory. Smh

I can't name one, but I know they are out there- dealers that specialize in Internet sales, they will get you what you want, how you want it. You may have to fly and drive it, I would rather do that than have it dropped off out front and have it be wrong.
In 35 years of buying trucks, I have yet to find a dealer with both a good sales dept, and good service. The place I bought my Ram is not very good at either.

Dave Smith was just that in '06 when I ordered my Ram. Very knowledgeable salesman and an excellent accessory dept that installed all my upgrades correctly. The sales manager even contacted me during the build at the factory. I did every thing over the phone and the new truck was in the dealer's lot in 35 days. They even arranged to have it shipped to San Diego. The only pisser was the finance dept's despair at their inability to sell me a service contract.
I don't think that's the current situation at DSM anymore.

I liked the guy I got tonight. He confirmed our apt. 3 times via email, and qc'd the order 3 times before he pulled the trigger. And he got a kick out of a female liking the big black truck. He owns a 3500 too, with big boat and toy hauler. I have a good feeling about this order. Crossing my fingers that all goes well.

That's great news. And, btw, I am female and not into endurance sports for either sex. I just like that she is standing her ground to get what she wants. Nothing wrong with that. Happy trails to you and if you get out this way, we have a private camping spot on our acreage for you.

Wow. 23 pages of a female trying to buy the perfect truck. Hint: it doesn't exist. A guy would have bought by page 5 and by now it would have different tires, suspension, exhaust, tuned, bumper, winch, LED light bars.....jeez :truck:

Have you thought about how hard that giant black truck is going to be to keep clean?? Something tells me you like tidiness and order..

Thanks much seeNik48 and all the other meaningful and helpful contributors to this post. It's nice to know that humanity still exists. I really do appreciate all of your helpful input. Insults, I could have done without. In fact, they're just superfluous drivel that cluttered up this helpful thread, contributing to the 23 pages. (And, I'm still flummoxed as to why anyone would read through 22 pages, just to make such comments.) And, yes, DD196, I do love tidiness and order, but love the look of a rugged truck. There will be times when I'd like it shiny, but not as many as I plan to have it reflect where I've been :) And, as far as a "female trying to buy the perfect truck", the sales industry just isn't ready for an independent, strong-willed female in a typically male-dominant segment of the automotive industry. I needed a truck. That doesn't mean I don't care what's inside or out. But it does mean I'd like it done right the first time. If you think about it, I'll probably be spending more time in my truck than in my camper. If I want comfort and style and can afford it, so be it. This will probably be my last vehicle purchase of my life. "One life. Just one. Why aren't we running like we are on fire towards our wildest dreams?"
