There has been a few comments recently regarding the internal bungies used for Fabric Management on Tepui tents.
.
Tepui has included shock cording or what others call bungees for fabric management in all tents until recently due to extensive field testing concluding that the attachment of these cords to the canopy walls introduces a weak point for possible water intrusion. In an effort to only produce tents that will stand up to the most extreme weather conditions and keep the occupants dry they have been discontinued while a new design is being refined. Tepui will introduce a better field tested fabric management system shortly but no sooner then thoroughly tested to our satisfaction.

Will they ship out the solution to those of us that has a tent with no bungees? I gotta admit, it's pretty annoying going around 3 sides of the tent to poke the canvas in, especially when one side is facing the back glass of the Tacoma. Tight squeeze.

The Autana we just received had the bungees included. They weren't installed from the factory, but they were in one of the parts bags. I found they assisted somewhat with the tent when it's wet, but I still have to spend some time tucking in the excess. I've only done this a few times now, so I'm sure i'll figure out the tricks to making this work. All in all, we're really happy with the tent. I'm trying to make a point of going through this entire thread.

^This. The bungees don't mean you won't have to tuck fabric, just less of it.

I had a CVT for a while that had the bungees included and they certainly helped a lot. But I can see how they could create a weak point in the fabric, that's a good amount of tension to have on the material.

:sombrero: I have severasl inovations, but

I've made the closing /fabric easy-a bonus is to close and zipper all flaps in the ttent, when gettitting ready to close up-

When I close the tent, I don't allow the end to close completely, I prop it up 2 ft with a 2 foot aluminum bar, that gives a lotta open slots to stuff that fabric still sticking out----that part of the closure takes an avg of 45 seconds-

Good luck

There were a few parts that didn't meet our quality standards so it hasn't been released. I'll see what I can find out regarding addressing the issues and see if there is an ETA on a release.

I am looking forward to it! Want this awning so bad!

Update on the Foxwing Awning. Production is currently at a standstill until a design consensus can be reached. Tepui wants to be certain they continue to provide the very best solutions and are taking steps to make sure it's done right. Current ETA is at least 6 months away.

FYI for anyone else waiting on an order stuck at the docks. Just heard back from Tepui today and they expect to ship my tent next Monday or Tuesday!

Thanks. Yes it looks like any of the delayed shipments (as a result of the dock strikes) should be going out over the next few days. Thanks everyone for your patience!

The Black travel covers are standard on the Ruggedized tents. I don't think they are listed on the site. You'll either need to call the shop to have one added to your existing order or call me and I'll fill the order. My cost is $115 + shipping (list is $125). You can reach me at 8017108110. Either way will work.
