ah, well ignore my diagnosis then. Sounds exactly like dropping a coil on the 24 valve. definitely check those wires and the distributor cap. Have you done a compression test? The 12 valves are non interference but people still burn a valve here and there, burnt valve means no compression. Am I coming late to the convo or is there a thread on this truck?

Nice! thanks for the invite. They're actually amphibious or you just dunk them without care? haha

3 are "factory" amphibious (float above the water), 2 are with snorkels…. (never meant for the water), the bus… well.. it's a goddamn monster bus on 54's! lol

Can i borrow a boat car?

SURE!…. Street legal?, 8wd, 4wd or 2wd?… With suspension, articulation or fixed? Second window please…….

The 2 buggies are like overbuilt floating go-karts! The Coot is sick with an articulating hull, screw drive power train…. it will go on any incline keeping all four wheels on the ground til gravity takes over and flips the rig on your head. I fit 33's on it to make it even more stupid… i mean ideal.

Is the articulated rig street legal? I just want to look cool at work one day!

Decided what the hell and tore down the motor after work today. Not entirely, I stopped at pulling off the heads because I couldnt find my big hexx and didnt feel like messing with the exhaust manifolds. I'll do some more tomorrow after work but sunday and Monday I have off. I'll decide what to do once I get in and see how things look. Worse case, I'll rip everything out and find a new motor. Best case, Ill send the heads to get milled, valve job, seals, and go find a supercharger to slap on it.

Also, anyone who complains about ANY of the spark plug location has never taken the AC bracket off while the block is in the vehicle. Next time I'll just pull the motor for that reason alone.

Any tricks to getting the exhaust manifolds off without hating life?

Forgot to add. Contacted Rising Sun today and they said I would be waiting a long time before they were able to get their hands on a 4m40/4d56. Even if they could come up with one, it would be 5k and I would have to go pick it up.

Prescott,

Why did you rip apart your engine? Did you do a compression test beforehand? Seems like a lot of work for what might not be the problem.

The motor needed to be gone through anyways. Its got 189xxx miles on it and from the service records I got, nothing has been done to the motor (including valve seals). Besides, I dont use the vehicle very often and down time isnt an issue. Heads will be pulled tonight and I'll know then what direction I want to go

going from a 12v to a 4m40 is power upgrade pa_jero my 3.0 never had the power the 1kz-t has turning 1 of the heaviest 37" rim tire combo's around is no problem.

prescott pull your ecu and make sure none of the caps are bleeding out onto the board this happens and will make problems. new fuel pump and injectors (or at least cleaned flow matched)would be a good idea while your putting it back together

Finally found FrankR's supercharger build thread on 4x4wire. 132 Pages. Started in 2006 ended in 2011 lol. The bummer thing is before November 23rd 2008 the pictures are not coming up. The two most important years have no pictures :/. I am going to see about getting a hold of him and hope that he just moved the pics to go with the story. Nevertheless, I spoke with my machinist today and will be dropping my motor off tomorrow after work. Once I get it back, the build will commence.
