I have a towing hitch from a regualr Ford van on mine. I have pulled my camper all over the country with it. Make a great tow vehicle.

Wow, can't believe it's been over 2 months since my last update. Thanks for the compliments!

Work has been stupid crazy and I've been working on this outside so I start losing motivation when the daylight gets shorter. That and I also picked up a new project distraction:

Finally got back to doing a little on the ambo. There's a lot of details I need to wrap up to make the interior really functional. Almost have the plumbing done and decided to go ahead and finish up the fridge mount.

First had to clean up and finish trimming out the space where it's going to sit:

Then dropped it in on its sliding shelf and bolted it down. The gate-style latch is less than ideal, but it works, was in my budget, and I haven't had the time to track down the most perfect catch ever or design one from scratch.

Been lurking but must come out and say it... outstanding work! We're in the same county but I haven't seen the rig on the road - must take a peek at it sometime. If you need detailed drawings I can hook you up like I did for Jim's trailer. ;)

Tango - I keep seeing your truck over at IronPig, is that your new hangout? I'll have to drop by one day with the Ambo, it's been a bit of a driveway queen lately.

Yeah... now that I'm retired I can afford to work there. ;) Please swing by with the Ambo sometime... we'd all like to take a peek.

Still not much to report, working in the cold is taking it's toll on me but I did manage to do what should've been done a long time ago - screw down the counter top and finish the aluminum back splash. It's finally starting to look like a camper inside. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic, need a new battery for the D40.

On a side note the Willys (which fits in a borrowed garage space) is coming along nicely ;).

Had another minor victory yesterday. Finally got my hitch finished. Now the KLR and the pedal bikes can have a home on the back of the Ambo.

JD Showing off his hard work:

Tried to tuck it as far up inside the frame as possible to salvage what I could of the departure angle.

That fit up there right nice Carl, thank goodness good old JD was there to offer his mad fab skills to ya. Have you come up with a solution for hauling the 'yaks yet?

On a side note, I'm diggin' the Willys. Did you channel it? The body looks low on the frame. And what direction are you going? Ratrod, rally burner, or chick magnet?
