Amazing light Chuck, and lovely processing. Only nitpick might be to play with the crop a bit, feels slightly out of balance, maybe try a wider format or take a bit off the bottom left, otherwise really great shot!

Ooo another one :) you've certainly got the tonal range thing nailed Chuck.

Ok fess up, these have a definite large-format look to them if for no other reason than the aspect ratio is about 5:4, what are they shot on?

Nothing fancy Rob, just a Canon t3i. I use a polarizer and bracket everything that I shoot. Lens is a 18-55mm (3.5-5.6). I used to shoot nothing but film, but switched to digital about a year ago.

Here's one more from our trip to Canyonlands last week. This is the view from Taylors Camp. I just couldn't enough of the place.

Some stunning images in this thread.

These are black and white film prints (scanned) that I developed in college. I took as many photography courses as possible, something I am glad to have invested the time in so many years ago. We had a dark room in our home for many years.

:)

You and me both. The closest I got was in the 90s when I had range of B&W landscape posters and was represented by the same people who sold AA's posters.

I was in the 'States in 1978 when AA was well and truly alive, apparently in those days you could just rock up to his house at sundowner time and chew the fat but I didn't know that at the time. Man I would love to have done that.

I'm more into wildlife photography with DSLRs these days but do miss the more contemplative approach of large-format B&W. I find doing panoramas is similar in that it requires time to set up the camera, get exposure readings etc etc. I still have my Tachihara

but can't see it ever being used again.
