Idk, but enjoy!

Gets kinda stale in here sometimes! I have A LOT I could update, but well.. I have no excuse. Maybe when I find some time I'll do an update and photo dump.

This is what's happened since last time:
- Got tube doors in/on.
- Installed my sliders.
- Tailgate net
- Prolly some other stuff I'm forgetting!

This is what I'm currently working on:
- IFS hub swap w/ Tacoma rotors & V6 Pickup Calipers (have hubs, not rotors & calipers)
- Rebuild front knuckles (have)
- Trail-Gear High steer (have)
- Tube Axle truss (have tube)
- IFS rear axle w/ tube trusses & disk brakes. (Have axles, tube, but no disk brakes)
- F&R diff armor. (Haven't decided to order or make)
- Chevy 63's & remount rear shocks! (Have)

When I finish that up in the next few weeks (hopefully), I've got to start ordering gears & lockers.

I used the Tacoma calipers and adapter plates from Front Range Off Road. They bolt the Tacoma caliper to the stock knuckle. After machining, the rotor slips over the IFS hub.

Yeah I thought about it but you can just use stock calipers or V6 calipers w/o buying the adapter plate.. I'm gonna throw the IFS hubs in the lathe. Did you replace the bearing and races inside the hub body? And did you use the stock SA locking hubs? I think the IFS locking hub gear is a different spline count than the SA spindle, correct? I would figure it out if I could tear into my front axle, but it's my DD and don't have the time to figure junk out lol..

Yes, the stock solid axle locking hubs work. I re-used the IFS bearings as they were in great shape.

I didn't like how the V6 caliper bolts to the knuckle to fit the Tacoma rotors. Kind of scary.

The adapter plates are only $100.

Bone Stock "82

Bought this beauty back in November '14 from one of my best friends. In 1983 we were both new Firefighters and I had a 1981 SR5, Tan, LB, 4x4. My buddy loved my truck so much he showed up in an identical truck except an '82. I drove mine for 14 years and sold it with over 300K on the odometer. My friend kept his until he sold it to me. Oh and it has 106,000 original miles. Been busy replacing a lot of the 33 year old parts. It shares the DD responsibility with my '87 BJ70.
