The Mysterious Gen 1 “Snow Protection Shield”

Never seen one in the wild - from spec it appears to cover between oil pan to cross member. Any info would be helpful- probably going to fab one.

As far as I know they all came with that metal pan, mine have them as does my 72 Colt and Starions.

In the shop manual it’s shown as an accessory- but no other information about it. Sounds easier just to fab one up.

If you are talking about the panel that covers from the frame under the radiator back to the suspension crossmember. The panel is in the parts books is pn MB485656 for the '87, different number for the pre '86. These made a continuous underguard from the bumper to mid engine bay.
