Hi guys,
I am sorry for the delay on updates for this. The project was largely designed for an event we did (mentioned earlier in the thread) called the Carbon Neutral Expedition that was April 10 for about 10 days to the Overland Expo (including this event). From there it will morph to become my vehicle for at least the next couple years (possibly personally) while we do a couple more Carbon Neutral Expeditions, including a hardcore one in the fall that is more technically and smaller amount of vehicles, and then one again next spring more similar to the original CNE I.
Because I wasn't able to finish it for this event and I had a lot of things building up in the time while I was working so hard on it I basically took a step back and paused a hair while I got a lot of other things in order, besides unfortunately also burning out a hair as well. The good news is a lot of other things have worked out pretty well that I am excited for but I am starting to focus now back on getting the last of this truck done.. The reality is (and I have two of these projects) is it takes absolutely huge amount of work to get things like this done and that is the problem.. This is why good shops are also so hard to come by, because it just takes so much labor to get these things done. As they say it the last 10% takes 90% of the time to get it done so that there will also be many more updates as well hopefully, a lot of which I really look forward to getting done and also posting updates on..
So hang tight.. The next major event I was planning to use the vehicle for (which in my eyes have allowed me to excuse the progress on it, for now) is Carbon Neutral Expedition II in September or possibly October some time for about 5 days (departing on a Wed evening, needing to meet in the Moab area or perhaps central San Rafael Swell area) and then proceeding south in the Dark Canyon/Canyonlands Wilderness to the 4 Corners Region which will be a fun, technical route that varies considerably from down near the Colorado to way high in the area between there and 4 Corners/Mexican Hat area... So if anyone is interested feel free to ping me. Technical requirements would be about 31/32" tires minimum and at least 1 locker. It will be limited to 4 vehicles in addition to my own as well. CNE II will be considered a "hardcore" run while we resume CNE III in the spring which is closer to the one we already did, which is lots of (mostly mellow) miles with epic terrain and views, more along the lines of what is stereotypically thought of as "Expo."
So an FYI....
thanks a lot guys for being so patient with this as well....
