There’s a connection under the drivers seat that frequently leads to an airbag light... I had to fiddle with mine recently after my airbag light came on.

Well, the custom rear bumper with swing outs, bicycle carrier, helipad, etc. is not going to happened any time soon. I was missing the step bumper I had on my old van, so I got a new (to me). Pushed back a little bit a couple of dents on the corners, sanded and painted it with Harbor Freight bed liner. It looks good, makes accessing to the rear a lot easier and doesn’t Kill the departure angle (the hitch takes care of that)

Did you use the harbor freight bed liner on the lower section of the van as well?

No. The bottom, front bumper and the brown sides were done with Monstaliner. The textures are different "bubbly" on the Monstaliner and "raspy" on the HF. Page 2 of this thread shows the painting process

It is holding very well in the areas I did good prep. The old rear bumper was chrome and didn’t other too much so it got some scuffs. The only spot that upsets me is under the drivers door handle. I guess I didn’t sand it and it peeled off a little bit. I see it every time I have to enter. Everywhere else is holding quite well even after going through narrow trails I didn’t get pinstriped too bad.

Tired of replacing the faded and messed up vinyl pinstripe I decide to paint it using tractor and farm paint. Ford Red. Tested a wider stripe in the rear door but decided for a more subtle all around.
Also added this lights for the under bed Storage. $10 for four of them intended for rock lights. I tried to put the link but they are no longer available. Too bad I didn’t get two sets .

Like 50% of Texas, I went to Colorado a couple of weeks ago. Great trip. Not sure if my 18 y.o. daughters would enjoy it since it implied climbing mountains, quite a bit of 4x4 trails and very little urban exposure, but they did enjoyed. We went straight to Lake City and then we did the Alpine loop. We also hiked the Handies and the Uncompahgre peaks.

Labor day weekend run at Barnwell Mountain Recreational Area. I probably pushed the van where we had no business but it was fun. Sometimes you have to pay to play. This time was a side glass. On the Gladiator picture you can see the trench we went into. Add a hairpin turn and you can imagine how tight it was, van leaned, and rested on its side until the glass popped. Mostaliner held very well even after rubbing against the dirt as shown on the broken window picture.

Went through the build and adventures over a coffee, 2 cups actually. This is exactly what I see an overland build is for....fun times, a few broken parts, lot o' smiles and happy kids. Nice job!
I in interested in your overall opinion of your coil spring selection. I have a 2000 5.4 Quigley and am looking for a new set of front coils. I am having a new leaf pack built and need to have the front height determined first.
My front axel only weighs about 3600lb. I put on a set of the cc880s yesterday and drove it a bit this morning. SUPER HARSH! They also gave me about 1.75" of lift compared to the old stock coils that were on there from 2000. I don't really need that much extra lift. I felt like my tires were too small for the wheel wells. 285/75/16 (33's). I guess around an inch of extra lift would be okay.
I am just curious what you may think in this department. What were your original coils that you are comparing the changes to? Thanks.

You can see that I built the 4x4 with MG brackets. I've had the 880s, 880 and finally the 860s. I share your opinion on the 880s. I am not familiar with the Quigley set up, but I understand that from factory they have a very short up travel. This was the problem I had with the 880 springs. I am very happy with the 860s. Cosmetically I think they look OK on my 33.6" (305/65r18) tires.
