dan,
emailed these pics: - i would write michael an email and ask him for a copy...

Wow, thanks man! that is awesome. My first published magazine article :)

Michael is sending a copy of the magazine to friends in Australia, but it's not something I'll be seeing too soon :)

Man, I've just been reading around your website for an hour! wicked, wicked wicked. I've been thinking so much lately about my next adventure vehicle, my TJ has been so good to me I've been thinking about a JK, though I'd have to get a diesel, no compromise there.
How long is your sleeping area in that thing? I'd love to see more photos of the inside in terms of what you've built for sleeping/storage/fridge/etc.

In other news I just crossed the much maligned border at Peñas Blancas into Costa Rica without too much hassle.

Made my way down the Nicoya Peninsula on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica.
Really hot sun, humidity & beaches galore

Hey guys,

I got my story published in Jeep Action Magazine, in Australia!

It´s amazing to see it in print, like somehow it makes my journey seem more real.

So Dan,

AWESOME Write up!!!

I'm wondering - what was life like before?

Did you run a business? Work?

How did you get yourself to a position where you could take on something like this??

(I'm new to the idea of something like you're doing....I see all these guys here, and now you taking on these incredible trips, just "leaving life behind" as the average man knows it and REALLY doing something Amazing - so, how'd you get to the point you could?)

How are you meeting fuel costs, etc??

Just curious!

Thanks!

Hey Nebep,

I'm actually a computer Software Engineer (sometimes) in the real world. I've also worked as a snowboard & kayak instructor, kids summer camps and about 20 other random things.
I saved for 2 years to be able to afford this trip.
I'm single, don't own a house, and sold everything I own (literally) except what is in the Jeep. I have no home in the whole world, no job to go back to, nothing to make me live in any place or another. I have not been to my birth country in almost 4 years. I'm thinking I might head to Europe to live after this trip, but I really have no idea.

So far my savings are holding out, plus the addition of a few donations on the website, a tax return and some freelance computer work on the road all help a little. It looks like my trip will take more like 18 months (I thought 12), and that's going to be a problem for money.
I always knew I would wind up living on my credit card, now I think it's going to get out of hand :D

Doing a trip like this really is just a choice.
I choose this each and every day and it's the best choice I have ever made.

Hope that helps, fire any more questions.

-Dan
