Anybody know where or if we can buy Avon tires? I am hoping to get some original looking tires for my 1956 SI.

From the Dunsfold website:

Now in stock at VINTAGE TYRES

AVON TRACTION MILEAGE DUAL PURPOSE TYRES

Please contact VINTAGE TYRES directly. Click HERE for details.

which leads you to Vintage Tyres. They are Euro and the American Rep is Universal Tires, I believe. Google it.

Approxiamately $400 a tire is silly money. I'd get a modern tire for that cash.

thats a lot of money for a bias ply tire !
Thanks for the replies. I saw what Dunsfold was advertising and have not been able to find Avons in the states. 400 bucks is a little much as well. I sure I will find something here.

here's a link to a tire place in PA. They don't have Avon's but they do have some good selections:

Nice rover! I have a little work left to get it on the road.

Specialty Tires of America.
The first photo is of their Super Traxion Tubless, available in 7.00x15 LR C and 7.50x16 LR D.
The second is their Super Traxion Tube Type available in 7.00x15 LR C and LR D, 6.50x16 LR C and 7.50x16 LR D.
Both treads would look good and are very similar to the treads offered OEM.
Cheers.
