You can stand in these when they're off the vehicle, right? As in drop it at camp and use it that way?

Yes of course. Although I never like the idea of having the camper moving a bit due to a little of play in the camper jacks. All pending on the size of camper and your interior, the centre of gravity may not be ideal for someone being in the alcove. This means: if the interior is too lightweight or you chose the keep the interior empty, your bodyweight may be enough to tip the camper over when NOT mounted in the truck. THERE IS NO CONCERN WHEN TIED DOWN TO YOUR TRUCK!!! (Sorry had to highlight this But don't worry, there is a solution if you go the lightweight route : Stablesticks from Rieco Titan stable-stix . We use them in the shop during assembly and they work fantastic.

Does anybody have experience running an 8' camper with the tailgate down in a 6.50'/6.75' bed? If so do you regret not going with the 6.5' camper? I really wish I had the silly Ford tailgate step in my truck after seeing this photo. Pretty slick setup!

I like the idea of the extra room the 8' has but would lose the ability to secure the camper by shutting and locking the tailgate. Also slightly interferes with taillight visibility. The 6.5' Wolf will have ~5" gap in a Ford Superduty 6.75' bed that I could use to store a folding step or slim water/fuel tank between the cab and camper then maybe make up for some storage loss by adding a weather tight box off the back wall?

Another thing to consider is how you would access the spare tire with the tailgate down. Each truck is different so you'll have to check with your own but with the tailgate down permanently that might block the spare tire access hole.

The drop down stairs on the fords is a super cool feature! We used ours all the time. If you can, go with the 8'. It's a good size bigger and worth it. Just watch your payload.... More interior space means more cabinetry and gear!

@Victorian I know you were concerned about tip over risks with deeper cab over sections on empty slide-ins in the past. Any chance there will be a 2.0 with a 60" cab over? Even pushing it to 54" (full size mattress width) would be very helpful with fitting everything into the smaller slide-in shells.

We would love to do that but as long as we have the boxes on offer as empty shells, we can’t go down that rabbit hole. The liability and possible damage resulting from possible tipped over boxes is a bit much. If we decide to only offer fully outfitted campers we could certainly move the centre of gravity far enough back to increase the bed size. cheers

2023 was an incredible year for us. After successfully finishing the first polar expedition with Arctic Trucks our builder in Squamish BC Off Grid Customs was commissioned to built version 2.0 for a second expedition to the high arctic AND the South Pole. bo5sl6jps1-february-1213-2024 . We are pleased to see that our material choices (FRP, Foam Core, Adhesives) can easily handle those extreme conditions.

Many more customers made their dream come true and started travelling in their dream rigs. Some of them full time.

If there is no published MSRP, does that allow a dealer to add whatever they think the market will "bear"?
