This has been debated in annoying quantities on this site and others. The bottom line is that Land Rovers get a terrible rap, but their known issues USUALLY will not prevent you from limping home.
My 3 amigos were annoying, but didn't prevent me from getting home after hunting in the backcountry.
2004 and beyond the argument of "reliability" has dwindled a bit although non owners refuse to admit that. And even prior to that, again, they had more "quirks" than "catastrophic failures."
And by stating that I've never had to "rely on a truck to save my life" you imply that in that situation, my disco will undoubtedly break. Which is also asinine.
Again - I really like Land Cruisers and was going back and forth between that and a Disco so I am NOT a Toyota hater nor do I want to continue yet another cruiser vs rover thread. I gave my opinion and my opinion is that Yotas are boring.
