My father has talked about the FJ Cruiser since it's debut. I've tried and tried to talk him into a Taco or another Jeep, but he always returned to the FJ. He missed the boat on the TRD Edition last year due to him trying to decide what he wanted.
This morning he called me and asked if I wanted to go test drive the Fj again. At first I thought heck no, but then I realized I haven't hung out with him for a awhile and it would be nice to share his company and conversation (Besides, maybe I'd be able to talk him into the Taco).
On the way to the dealership, he told me that he had gotten a call from the dealer saying they had just received a white one in last night. I responded with piqued interest "The Trail Edition with the locker". He said "Yep".
Low and behold, a little while later he needed me to drive his Cummins home for him.
At least it's ExPo White!!!!!!
On the short list (Which was compiled as the deal was being struck),
Armor, front and rear.
Skids
Winch
Suspension
I'm new to this 120 platform, so I'm undecided on OME (Which I'm very impressed with how well Redline's 4runner handles) or a more aggressive kit to fully appreciate the IFS such as Total Chaos, Donahoe etc. I think we are both having a great time "Building" this rig.
He wanted a smaller rig that would alleviate the use of his crew cab Cummins as a daily driver. Be easier to find parking for, have a large aftermarket support (They even make snorkels for this thing). I think he found it and he's pretty pleased with it.
