New F 150.....

I have a 2015 150 xl cab and 1/2 FX 4...... I love it ! it has almost 1,000 of miles on dirt the majority in 4 WD out West, (DE 5 and DE VI) as seen on this forum in NA trip reports and oh yes I live in NYS so I can tell you it is no slouch on the Interstates (40 and 70) at speeds of 80 mph or more. I do not find it a problem in cities ST Louis, Nashville, etc. no problem with it's size. If you want full skids RCI Off Road in Ft. Collins CO. is your place, you can skid the whole under body if you like, ( I did) also a rear diff. cage from "Purple Crainum" products, good AT tires, raised rear diff. breather, Leer topper, thats it. My previous truck was a 2009 Ranger, great truck but the 150 is so much better. I find it to be my perfect overland choice.

One small addition this weekend. I mounted my axe and shovel to my tool box. Didn't have time to get the hi-lift mounts done. I sent the LR-200 mount back and picked up a 4xRAC instead. Plan to mount that to the bottom of the tool box.

Also added a light tint to my fog lights for purely cosmetic reasons. Just adding to the minimal bright shiny chrome stuff theme I tend to keep on my vehicles.

Ya dude these are great trucks, I have a few friends with them who have done intake, exhaust, and tune are pushing great numbers and even better gas mileage. Yet most of them are on roughly a 33 with just a level and after market front bumper.

Great tire I have them on my Ram 1500, and have not had one issue with them. What load range are yours all discount had when I got mine are E's and boy do they have a rough ride.

Adding power sounds fun and is certainly tempting but I'm plenty happy with stock power and I'd like to have no issues should I need warranty work. Maybe someday!

Glad you like them. I am too so far but that's just highway commuting so far. Mine are load range E. Pretty sure that's the only load range they come in except for a 31 flotation tire in C. Ride hasn't noticeably decreased for me from the stock goodyear HTs. A little more hum on the highway, a little less MPG, and more steering weight. I like the extra weight in the steering. It was almost loose before.

Yeah, I also noticed that LR E tires (BFG KO2) rode rough compared to stock, especially on the washboard roads. Guys at the tire shop also set the tire pressure at 40+ psi, which didn't help, either. I took it down to 35psi and helped a little, but I think I need to go down another 2-3 psi.

Next go around, I might try a different AT tire that come in LR C or D.

Update: Just ordered 2" level for the front. Should get the nose off the ground. Eventually I'll go with coilovers, UCAs, etc. but that front bumper needs to come up.

Yeah E load tires are known for a rough ride. Tire shop put mine on with ~42 psi. I've heard varying opinions on where to actually set them. Some say go ahead and run them at whatever pressure is on the door and some say don't run them under 40 or 45psi depending on max pressure. Truthfully, I think I want to go higher with mine until I do a chalk test. Seems like the sidewalls have more give than necessary for cornering.

LR E's typically have stouter sidewalls, which explains the rougher ride. Max psi on those is 80, suited for 3/4 or 1 ton trucks carrying heavy loads. 1/2 ton trucks like ours won't need anywhere close to that.

Oh yeah 80 psi would be crazy high for a 1/2 ton.

Unloaded you can run 55-60 psi just fine and gets rid of some harshness, I run that pressure on my Chevy diesel with these same tires and it made a world of difference from 80.

Installed the jerry can mount. Full RCI skids should arrive today as well. Level kit and skids going on tomorrow. Maybe finish my hi lift mount as well...and need to change oil. A lot of work to do this weekend.

Curious which RCI skids you ordered and why? I will get a set if my truck never sells. Thanks

I ordered the steel plates which came with a front engine skid, transmission, and t-case. I ordered these because the stock FX4 skids leave quite a bit exposed underneath. If the stock skids covered the intercooler on my truck, I probably would have just ordered the transmission skid to fill in between the front skid a t-case skid. I got the steel because they were cheapest and came powdercoated. I'm ok with a little extra weight.

You're leaving the bed exposed.........no plans for a bedliner????

I do plan on adding a spray on bedliner to it but I haven't had a chance to do so yet.
